Narooma se nahaja na vzhodni obali Avstralije v Novem Južnem Walesu. Najbolj znana potapljaška destinacija v tej regiji je otok Montague, ki leži 8 km od obale.
V Naroomi so trije potapljaški centri, ki ponujajo različne potapljaške tečaje, od začetnikov do profesionalnih. Tukaj ni ne bivanja na ladji ne potapljaških letovišč.
Nekatere priložnosti za potapljanje v Naroomi vključujejo srečanja z velikimi ribami in sesalci. Med potapljanjem lahko opazite sive morske pse, vobbegonge, skate in celo delfine ter kite. Največji vrhunec pa so zagotovo bližnja srečanja s kožuharji.

Potapljanje v Naroomi je priljubljeno vse leto, saj ponuja vrhunske rezultate ne glede na letni čas. Temperatura vode poleti (november - marec) doseže 24 °C, kar odraža temperaturo zraka. Tople vode privabljajo tropske ribe in redke živali tako daleč na jugu, kot so želve, sončne ribe in mante.
V hladnejših mesecih od maja do septembra lahko temperatura vode pade na 16 °C, temperatura zraka pa le redko preseže to vrednost. Pozimi in spomladi lahko opazite grbave kite.

1. Montague Island – Grey Nurse Shark Site
Located off the island’s northern tip, this advanced scuba site is famous for summer sightings of grey nurse sharks hunting in deeper waters. Depths vary, and strong currents may occur. Best for experienced divers seeking thrilling encounters.
2. Montague Island – Seal Colony
This shallow site is ideal for all levels. Playful Australian fur seals interact with divers in clear water over rocky reefs. With excellent visibility and gentle conditions, it’s a must-do and perfect for freedivers and photographers.
3. Montague Island – Boulder Wall
A sloping reef with large rock formations and swim-throughs. Expect schools of fish, rays, and the occasional wobbegong shark. Suitable for intermediate scuba divers. This site showcases rich reef life and dramatic terrain.
4. Montague Island – Sponge Gardens
This colorful reef zone features sponge-covered boulders, nudibranchs, and macro life—ideal for underwater photography. With a depth range of 8–18m, it suits beginner to intermediate scuba divers in calm conditions.
5. Montague Island – South Reef
An exposed site with strong currents, this one is for advanced divers only. Look for pelagic fish, eagle rays, and sharks cruising by. The dramatic underwater topography includes deep ledges and overhangs within a protected marine park zone.
