Atlantis (★4.1)

The structures on this reef remind one of the a sunken city with huge square boulders simulating lego blocks that have been placed on the ocean floor. Whip Corals and large Green, Black and White tree corals grow from between the crevices and the side walls of the reef.

Robs Bottom (★4.4)

A 35 minute drive south from Tofo Beach, straight through ’Whale Shark Alley’, will eventually take you to Rob’s Bottom. A deep-water ridge peaking at 23m, Rob’s attracts a huge host of large marine life and is known as one of Mozambique’s most unpredictable dive sites.

The reef consists of various ledges and sandy channels, with the upper parts serving as manta cleaning stations. Located approximately 17km away, which is about a 30-minute boat ride, this dive site has depths ranging from 21-28m, offering a bottom time of 31 minutes for air divers and 40 minutes for nitrox divers

Steves Ledge (★4.2)

This dive site has an average depth of 15 meters and a maximum depth of 17 meters and is a really good dive for newly certified divers. The dive site is only accessible by boat.

Mikes Cupboard (★4.3)

An interconnected chain of bowls with caves, overhangs, and gullies makes up this dive location. It is perfect for newcomers, photographers aiming for the ideal nudibranch photograph, or anyone seeking a relaxed dive with numerous fascinating views. Accessible by a quick 2km boat ride or a 10-minute travel time.

Top Wildlife Sightings in Mozambique

Mozambique's marine life is renowned for its vibrant biodiversity, offering divers a chance to encounter a variety of species. Common reef fish include the colorful parrotfish and butterflyfish, which are prevalent around the coral reefs throughout the year. Divers can also spot lionfish and moray eels in these waters.

Seasonal highlights include the sighting of whale sharks and manta rays, especially around Tofo Beach from November to February. Green and hawksbill turtles are commonly seen throughout the year, particularly near the Bazaruto Archipelago. Bull sharks are more likely to be encountered in deeper waters during the summer months, adding an exciting edge to diving adventures in Mozambique.
