The sea! Mystical, exciting, beautiful! Around two thirds of the earth's surface is covered by the sea. Logically, the sea is therefore an enormously important space for humans. It serves as a habitat, as a transportation and trade route, as a source of food or simply as a place for recreation and sport. And although the world's oceans play such an important role in human history, only around 5% of them have been explored. At the same time, the part that is already known is being excessively used and exploited to supply people all over the world with marine products, often at the expense of ecosystems and marine organisms! If that were not enough, the sea also serves directly and indirectly as a garbage can and catch basin for all kinds of pollutants. Whether heavy metals, crude oil, microplastics or any kind of waste - all of these can now be found in the world's oceans. It is clear that the sea needs our help! This exhibition deals with the topics of marine use and marine pollution in a very vivid way!

Our school, Amorgos Diving Center, is organizing a unique underwater clean-up event in beautiful Amorgos. This event is open to everyone and is offered free of charge, aimed at protecting the marine environment and raising awareness within the local community. The event will include cleaning up trash found on the seabed, along with informative activities about the importance of marine conservation. All participants will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of underwater life while contributing to the health of our waters. Tons of waste ends up in the oceans every year, destroying the marine environment. In one of our favourite destinations, the sea current has carried many plastic bottles and other waste, let's remove it together and help keep the sea as clean as possible. During our dives we will clean the bottom of plastic and other waste in a bay near Herceg Novi, Montenegro. We will be there on June 15th from 10:00h. Please prepare your Blue Oceans mesh bags for the dives.

Have you discovered your interest in underwater historical research in the Historic Diving course? Perhaps you have already taken part in a survey or would like to do so in the future? The VDST specialization in underwater archaeology I teaches you advanced scientific skills - and fully qualifies you to participate in the research project on Fehmarn. Course incl. certification: € 369.00 Diving instructors in the VDST must provide proof of annual training hours. But after the umpteenth night or orientation dive, some people have had enough. From now on, graduates of the SK Underwater Archaeology I can assist in a follow-up course - and receive recognized teaching units (LE). Details on request. Assistant Citizen Science: € 39.00 The course takes place at Lake Schwerin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Raben Steinfeld and the diving center Kosie's D.I.V.E. Basis Schwerin are in the immediate vicinity of the A24/A14. For theory lessons we reside in a nearby seminar center. We are going to clean the Peñon Del Santo, underwater as well as the adjacent beaches of La Caletilla and San Cristobal.

At the end of the Dutch diving season we clean a lake where people swim a lot during the summer months. This is where most of the mess is.

This year, as every year, we are carrying out a lake cleaning campaign together with the local clubs and diving schools. Armed with collecting nets, we scour the Dankern lake bathing area and collect all garbage that could be dangerous for bathers. We are happy to welcome any volunteers who would like to lend a hand in, on or under the water.

We'll meet at the port of Torredembarra and go out as a group to clean the area in front of the sailing club. We'll be giving out surprise prizes for participating in the event.

Start your weekend under water! Every Saturday morning we meet for a sea dive together. Prerequisite: OWD and experience in the lake. Costs: - CHF 50.- for the whole year (01.01.-31.12.) - or CHF 10.- per Saturday

Dive With Jimmy runs a pool night on Tuesday evenings, 7pm-8.30pm at Robinson Pool in Bedford. During this time we have sole access to both the dive pit which goes down to 3.8m and the children's pool. This is a great social event which is open to snorkelers, freedivers and scuba divers alike. We use the pool time to conduct courses as well as give customers an opportunity to try out new kit or just have a splash. The cost is £15 for the evening (unless you are on a course with us).
