In this flexible course, you can choose your subject areas, such as initial assessment, first aid, CPR and stabilization techniques. The SSI Science of Diving Specialty course provides you with a comprehensive understanding of the underwater world and its effects on the human body. You can complete your SSI Science of Diving Specialty certification online from the comfort of your own home. Upon completion of the course, you will be halfway to the coveted SSI Divemaster and receive your Science of Diving certification.

The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by completing the Divemaster program. All you need is 40 verified dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 verified dives in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. Upon successful completion of the Divemaster program, you will be certified as a Dive Guide. If you want to turn your passion into a profession by guiding certified divers, teaching Ecology programs, assisting instructors or even becoming an instructor yourself, your next step is the Divemaster upgrade with at least 60 logged/verified dives. You can upgrade to Divemaster immediately or later by studying the Science of Diving materials yourself and passing the Digital Final Exam, which makes you an SSI Professional. There are thousands of job opportunities worldwide for the next generation of highly qualified divers.

In April we will be going on a "cold water tour" to the beautiful island of Dugi Otok in the Croatian Adriatic near the Kornati National Park! Relaxed dives on massive steep walls, in a bizarre underwater world and simply a great feeling in the DEEP BLUE of the Croatian Adriatic await us here! HIGHLIGHT (!) DECOMPRESSION DIVER COURSE on the tour On the tour there is the option of completing the SSI Decompression Diver course. A course that expands your limits, especially on the deep walls of the Adriatic. We dive to 40m and with up to 15 minutes of deco. Stages, deco gas, etc. are provided on site and do not have to be brought along (doesn't look good in hand luggage either ;). The tour is led by our boss and BlueMarlin founder Sebo (Sebastian Reinwald). He started diving in Croatia at the age of 6, later worked as a diving guide and instructor in the North Adriatic and has a great passion for the land and the sea! Just the right man for this tour ;) Diving center Kornati Diving Center The Kornati Diving Center is located directly in the harbour of the tranquil village of ZAGLAV on Dugi Otok. The center is under the German management of Matthias and Ela, who are passionate about their work.

In 2026 we will again be regularly visiting the Nuttlar slate mine (Sauerland) for cave diving and cavern tasting. The dives in the Nuttlar slate mine are a short journey back in time and an absolutely exciting experience. On our excursions, you can test whether cave diving is something for you as part of a cavern taster dive. You dive in the cavern area, where you can surface safely at any time. As a rule, you'll forget that there's no rock ceiling above you as soon as you dive down ;) and you'll get that real cave feeling. A fascinating experience! We look forward to welcoming you to the Nuttlar mine!

In 2026 we will make 3 trips to the Hunsfels! A TOP dive site only about 1.5 hours from Cologne. We can usually expect very good visibility here and relatively warm temperatures for a quarry, due to a warm water inlet into the lake.

In August, we will be traveling to the beautiful island of Dugi Otok in the Croatian Adriatic near the Kornati National Park! The tour will be led by BlueMarlin diving instructor & marine biologist Lea Tauchbasis Kornati Diving Center The Kornati Diving Center is located directly in the harbour of the tranquil village of ZAGLAV on Dugi Otok. The center is under the German management of Matthias and Ela, who are passionate about their work. Accommodation/Apartments The apartments are located directly above the diving center. We are accommodated in 4-person apartments, all of which are simple and well equipped. There are 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. We often go out to eat, but of course we can also cook in the apartment. Everyone according to their mood. On request there are also 2-bedroom apartments in other apartment houses in Zaglav.

The Independence II goes on a 6-day liveaboard to the south of St. Johns - Elphinstone. A great tour, which is also TOP suitable for less experienced divers and snorkelers. WHAT TO EXPECT: Day 1 / Arrival: Arrival at Hurghada or Marsa Alam airport, transfer to Port Ghalib marina, check into the cabins and start exploring the boat. Depending on the time of day of arrival, we will have our first meals together, possibly visit the harbor and spend the first night on the M/Y Independence II. 2nd day Departure after approval by the harbor police at approx. 9:00 am, check dive and 1-2 more dives at different dive sites, crossing to St. John's during the night. 3rd + 4th day 3 day dives and 1 night dive at the best dive sites of St. John's 5th + 6th day 3 day dives and 1 night dive in the area of Fury Shoals and Shaab Sharm 7th day 2 dives at Elphinus and Shaab Sharm. Day 2 dives at Elphinstone, alternatively in Abu Dabab and El Shouna, arrival in the harbor around 16:00 or if possible (depending on e.g. transfer planning for the departure day or necessary work on board) we also spend the last night at sea near the harbor Day 8: Departure day Meal(s) according to the time of day, transfer from the ship to the airport On this day, packing and, depending on the departure time, a few more meals on board the ship in the harbor are on the program.

In November/December 2026 we will be traveling to beautiful Mexico. The tour is organized by T.U.R. Tauchreisen weltweit - the travel specialist of the diving association IAC International Aquanautic Club! We will not only dive in the beautiful sea, but also in the legendary cenotes! The tour is suitable for recreational divers and is accompanied by our BlueMarlin diving instructors Peter and Stefan.
