Explore Mariana Islands

The Mariana Islands’ have something for every level of diver, making it a great place to take various dive courses. From untouched vibrant reefs hosting abundant Indo-Pacific species like reef fish, sharks, rays, turtles and more, to plunging walls and historical shipwrecks, a wide variety of iconic sites await. Dive centers and dive resorts are plentiful, so there’s no lack of availability. Some divers opt for a liveaboard, which frequently roam these Micronesian islands.

Scuba diving in the Mariana Islands typically entails Saipan, Tinian, Rota and Guam. Saipan boasts white beaches and exceptional diving, such as caves, eagle ray cleaning stations and healthy reefs. Nearby, Tinian features plenty of untouched, remote sites that possess incredible beauty, like Tinian Grotto, a magnificent cave site, and Two Coral Head which is popular with photographers.

Rota greets divers with crystalline waters that hold wrecks, including the Shoun Maru, a WWII Japanese cargo ship. Other notable sites are Coral Garden and Table Tip, where life is incredibly abundant, and Shenhanon Cave, where heavenly light decorates the cavern.

Guam is a history buff’s haven, with numerous WWI and WWI shipwrecks to explore, some even suited to beginners. While there are also colorful reefs and walls to discover, the main attractions are the wrecks. Notably, there’s the SMS Cormoran from WWI, and the Tokai Maru, which sank during WWII. The lie together, and it’s thought to be the only site in the world where you can literally touch two wrecks from two separate world wars.

Overall, Saipan is more developed and bustling. For a quieter, traditional experience, the smaller islands of Tinian and Rota are a great choice. All the Mariana Islands benefit from fantastic diving, so there is no "better" place to dive, since they all offer excellent diving spots.
