After completing the SSI Referral Diver course, you can dive anywhere in the world in pools, aquariums or diving pits. It's only a short step to expanding to the Open Water Diver course for diving outdoors.

This globally recognized training program is the best way to start your lifelong adventure as a certified diver. One-on-one instruction is combined with in-water training, giving you the skills and experience needed to feel truly comfortable underwater. Upon completion of the course, you will be certified as an SSI Open Water Diver.

A snorkeling program can be the first step beyond apparatus diving or freediving. In this course you will learn useful tips on how to make the most of your time at the surface and just below it. Instructors will teach you how to dive safely to depths you are comfortable with and you will have the opportunity to improve your underwater breath-hold.

This program is a first introduction to the world of freediving and is designed for complete beginners who are attracted to scuba diving. The lesson is also great as a gift. The purpose of the program is to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely participate in recreational freediving with an SSI diving professional in confined water. Upon completion of the program, you will receive SSI Try Freediving recognition.

The content of the SSI React Right program includes the following components: casualty assessment, first aid at the scene, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stabilization techniques, and two optional components: oxygen administration in emergency situations and basic knowledge of performing automated external defibrillation (AED). Upon successful completion of the program, you will be certified as SSI React Right.

In SSI Shark Ecology, you'll discover why sharks are so fascinating and often misunderstood. You'll learn to identify different species, understand their behavior, and learn how to dive safely with them.Whether you love or respect sharks, this course will give you a new perspective on these amazing creatures and an understanding of why they are so crucial to the balance of the marine ecosystem!

In the SSI Marine Ecology program, you will gain a comprehensive overview of how marine ecosystems function and their importance to our planet. You will learn about the diversity of marine organisms, learn to identify them, and understand the relationships that shape the delicate balance of the underwater world.This course is for anyone who wants to better understand life in the oceans - whether as a diver or a nature lover. The knowledge you gain will enable you to see the underwater environment in a broader context, while encouraging a responsible approach to its protection.

The purpose of the program is to introduce students to detailed knowledge of physics, physiology, decompression theory, the aquatic environment, as well as diving equipment.Learn all about the effects of different gases on divers, power calculations, the behavior of light and sound underwater, thermal comfort and body physiology underwater in general, tissue saturation and desaturation, and the past, present and future of diving equipment.This training is required for most SSI Dive Professional and some Extended Range programs, but will be useful for any diver interested in the why and how of it all.Upon completion of the program, you will be certified as an SSI Science of Diving Specialty.

Stress is a major cause of many diving accidents and also has a negative impact on rescue operations. The purpose of this program is to provide students with the skills necessary to recognize stress, prevent accidents, and act appropriately in emergency situations. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be certified as an SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Specialty.

Want to work on your balance, improve your fin kick technique and fine-tune your body position in the water, known as trim? ProgramSSI Perfect Buoyancyis aimed at providing the necessary knowledge and skills to improve your comfort in the water and make the best use of your diving equipment. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be certified as an SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty.

Gain access to longer dives and shorter surface intervals with enriched air diving. Nitrox (EAN) with a higher oxygen content of up to 40% reduces nitrogen saturation and increases diving safety.The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox course will equip you with the knowledge to plan dives, analyze mixtures, and safely use this technology anywhere in the world. Upon successful completion, you will receive the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% International Certification.

Many beautiful dive sites are located in deeper waters. However, without a good course, diving to them is risky. A Deep Diving course will prepare you to be able to plan and execute dives below 18 meters safely and comfortably. At the end of the Deep Diving course you will receive an internationally recognised certification.Completion of the Deep Diving course is also a prerequisite for some advanced courses.

You will learn the special requirements for dry suit diving and how to use the suit properly. You will learn the benefits of drysuit diving and how to properly handle emergency situations. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be certified as an SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty.A huge advantage of drysuit diving is the stable thermal comfort all year round, even in our conditions. You can dive in a drysuit all year round, even in colder waters, and you can expand your choice of sites to include interesting places in colder regions of the world. Drysuit diving is not difficult or demanding, you will learn everything you need during the course and then it's like any other diving skill - the more you "dive" the more confident you will be in your drysuit.

The purpose of the program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to dive safely and comfortably at night or in low visibility conditions. It would be a shame to end dives at sunset as there is a different and unique atmosphere in the seas in the evening and at night. The content of the program is to learn how to enter and leave the water properly, how to use special equipment and how to communicate with a dive partner during night dives and dives in low visibility. Upon completion of the program, you will be certified as an SSI Night & Limited Visibility Specialty.

The purpose of the program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate safely and confidently during a dive. You will learn how to navigate using a compass, how to use natural navigation underwater, learn how to estimate distance correctly, and gain information on basic navigation techniques. You will also practice leaving to find a set point again. Upon completion of the program, you will earn your SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

Whether you're just using your dive computer to keep track of the basics, or you want to master all of its advanced features, we'll teach you and help you get the most out of your SSI Computer Diving program!We will guide you through the setup and preparation of your dive computer, teach you how to effectively use its functions before, during and after your dive, and show you how to properly analyze the data you collect.The SSI Computer Diving program is designed for certified divers to become familiar with all the features and benefits of using a dive computer. By understanding and knowing how to use all of its features, you will not only increase the safety of your dives, but also make it easier to plan and execute them. During the program, you will explore the features and capabilities of various dive computers and learn how to use them effectively before, during and after your dive. Many divers often purchase a computer but only use it for basic information. Get the most out of your investment by learning how to use your dive computer to its full potential.

In this course, you will learn the skills and concepts you need to safely plan and execute dives using an underwater vehicle or DPV. You will learn what special precautions are necessary when using a DPV, how to maintain contact with your dive partner, and how to operate your equipment to safely enjoy the new diving experiences that a DPV provides. Upon completion of this program, you will be certified as an SSI Scooter/DPV Diving Specialty and will be able to dive with a scooter or DPV to depths of up to 30 meters.

SSI's Decompression Diving specialty teaches you how to perform dives beyond the limit without decompression diving. You will learn how to plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational complete dive system and one decompression bottle. You will learn and practice how to effectively use dive computer functions including gas changes, gas integration, time to reserve and time to surface. Using these dive computer features will become second nature to you, allowing you to safely perform limited decompression dives without many hours of dive planning. Upon completion, you will be certified as an SSI Decompression Diving Specialty and will be able to explore amazing deep dive sites or larger wrecks without being constrained by traditional non-decompression limits. The SSI Dive Guide program is the first step on a professional diver's journey. You will learn to safely guide certified divers in a variety of conditions, prepare quality dive briefings, evaluate sites, and lead dives as a responsible guide.At Divers Direct, we will prepare you not only to meet SSI standards, but more importantly, to work realistically with the people, team, and responsibility that this level brings.The purpose of the program is to provide students with the knowledge and training they will need to lead certified divers. It is the first step in a career as anSSI dive professional. A Professional Dive Guide/Divemaster can work for SSI dive centers and conduct dives in a variety of environments and conditions. Upon completion of the program, the student will be certified as an SSI Dive Guide, and if completing the SSI Science of Diving program, an SSI Divemaster.

The Assistant Instructor program will provide you with the skills, concepts, and teaching experience needed to work as an SSI Instructor. You will become familiar with the SSI instructional system and gain insight into the philosophy of the system. You will learn how to effectively assist an instructor and teach a variety of SSI training programs. Candidates will be certified as an SSI Assistant Instructor upon successful completion of the course, or will be able to seamlessly follow up with the SSI Open Water Instructor course. This requires an additional successful completion of the Instructor Evaluation exam.

The Instructor Training Course (ITC) will provide you with the skills, concepts and teaching experience needed to work as an SSI Open Water Instructor. You will become familiar with the SSI teaching system and gain insight into the philosophy of the system. You will learn how to effectively teach a variety of SSI training programs. Candidates will be certified as an SSI Open Water Instructor upon successful completion of the course. This requires successful completion of the Instructor Evaluation exam. Introduction to the aquatic environment (freshwater) - types of water, basic bio/physical processes and how they affect us as divers (e.g. visibility, how to measure, how where changes throughout the year and why) + a brief overview of life in freshwater, which will be covered in detail in a follow-up lecture series not just for divers.

The German quarry of Steina is located just outside Dresden and is one of the quarries with good visibility all year round. That is why we are returning here for the fourth time with the same enthusiasm :-). The background and entrance to the water is perfectly adapted for divers and there are plenty of attractions to enjoy underwater. Whoever is tired of Steina can borrow the keys to the adjacent Prelle quarry and have a dive there.

In addition, you'll have the opportunity at each dive weekend to hone your diving skills under the supervision of our divemasters and instructors.The Black Water in Aquarea is just outside of Bratislava and is a great place to dive, but feel free to bring the family with kids. Divers can enjoy underwater attractions and a lot of fish. On land, there is a well-equipped campsite with facilities and you can even swim here. In addition, there are other diving sites not far from here - Gulaška, Slnečná jezera. You can perhaps go there on the way in your free time too.

The Leštinka Dive Park will host a unique event focused on drysuit testing. This event is open to all interested parties whether or not they are drysuit certified. Attendees will be able to test the latest dry suit types, receive professional instruction, earn SSI Dry Suit certification and much more. Many of our divemasters and instructors will also be present at the event and will be available for advice and demonstrations. Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience dry suit diving and extend your diving season! Those interested can take a complete SSI Dry Suit course at our dry suit weekend.
