Lom Vševily

The Vševily Quarry is a flooded granite quarry with clear water and a peaceful environment. It reaches a depth of several dozen meters and is popular among divers for its good visibility and rugged walls. Diving is only permitted by arrangement.

The water is home to carp, perch, white fish, and crayfish in some places. The area around the quarry is inhabited by amphibians and waterfowl.

Lomeček (★4.1)

Former amphibolite quarry (amphibolite is a hard rock, a mixture of metamorphosed igneous rocks), mining ceased in 1988. Dimensions about 200 x 20 to 50 m. Since 1996 it has been leased by the diving club Marine Domažlice. The former name is Maldives, now officially Lomeček.

Borena Hora quarry - SSI Dive Center. It is a flooded quarry with a maximum depth of 22m, average depth of about 17m. The main attraction of the quarry is the wreck of the MI8 helicopter.

Lom Hříměždice (★3.7)

The quarry is open for divers outside the summer season, when people do not come here to swim and sunbathe. The maximum depth is 8 meters, the quarry is small, but it has its own specific charm. There are no diving facilities here, you can change and get dressed under the roof.

Přehrada Slapy - Cholín továrna (★4.1)

At 20 - 25 m depth there are remains of power plant and an old tannery. 5 m tall wall starts a several meters above the power plant and ends approx. 100m bellow it. From the previous powerplant there are 5m tall walls, that are intact, marking the plan of the object, around the previous riverbed. Max. depth is 25m

Přehrada Slapy - Borákův mlýn (★4.0)

The remains of a flooded mill, you can see a wooden mill wheel, remains of walls and a wall around the previous riverbed. The entrace is the best by boat, or you can swim from the opposite shore. The navigation is quite difficult - compass is mandatory. The maximum depth is 35m, temperature 4-18 C.

Lom Srní (★4.0)

This quarry is full of fish and underwater life, and is popular for its fauna. There is a scuba diving center by the quarry, where you can get your tanks filled and there is a space for changing and drying your scuba diving equipment. There is a refreshment stand and accommodations are open during the season as well.

Přehrada Slapy - Zátoka Babor (★3.9)

Dive Site on the Vltava River - Slapy dam. Access to the water is possible from the boat dock or from the ALEA Divers private jetty, where the ropeways start - marked purple on the map. The depths of ropeways are from 5m (training platform) to 45m (Babor solitude).

Přehrada Slapy - Přístaviště u hráze (★3.6)

The maximum depth is 56 meters, the temperature varies throughout the year between 3-12°C. At depth of 43m there is a trail, on which is a wreck of pontoon. In the direction against the current (swim time around 15 mins) there is a wreck of a boat at the depth of 25m, it is probably the biggest wreck on Slapy.

Location on the Slapy dam - Vltava. approx. 35 km from Prague. Diving is possible directly from the end of the road - parking by the water. The ideal entry to the water is behind the gate at the boat launch - entry only outside of operating hours! Temperature: Winter 0°–4°C, Summer 24°–16°C, Visibility 1-10m.

Lom Leštinka (★4.1)

Leštinka is one of the most popular quarries for divers in Czechia. It is full of attractions for divers, including a caisson, a sunken museum, and other trivia. There are several dive centers at the quarry that provide bottle filling, rentals, refreshments, and accommodation for divers and non-divers alike.

Lom Šífr - Svobodné Heřmanice (★4.3)

The Šífr quarry is located on the outskirts of the small Czech village of Svobodné Heřmanice and is approximately 140 km from Žilina, near the Czech town of Opava. This slate quarry is approximately 500 metres long, 30-70 metres wide and in this relatively small quarry you will find depths of up to 36 metres. Note the quarry is at an altitude of 450 m above sea level.

Pool for divers. The maximum depth of the pool is 3.2m. Minimum depth 1.5m. the length of the pool is 25m and the width is about 12m (6 lanes). Above the deep part there is a diving board 3m above the surface.

Indoor swimming pool measures 12.5 x 25 m with a depth of 1.2 - 4 m. - open during the winter. Outdoor swimming pool - two pools - 50 x 20 m with a maximum depth of 2 m and the other with a depth of around 1.5 m - open in summer season

A former quarry. The quarry is full of different kinds of fish, you will find a sunken bus and various training platforms. The quarry has great diving facilities, including a filling room, rental room, common room and changing areas and a sauna.

The location is near the town of Most. Artificially flooded open-pit mine. Distance from Prague about 85km (1:15hrs drive time), 4km from Most by car you can drive “to the water“.

A lake in a residual pit after lignite mining, which filled up spontaneously in the 1970s. In the water there are a lot of man-made attractions such as a caisson, a car wreck, statues and also training plates.
