The Echinger Weiher is an artificially created Baggersee in the north of Munich. With a size of about 100 x 250m and a maximum depth of 8m it is suitable for training and practice dives. The lake is located in a nature reserve. Please note: a diving license must be purchased in advance!
North of the Fernpass, at almost 1100 m, lies the 25 m deep Blindsee Lake. High fish abundance, sunken landscapes of roots and trees in combination with unbelievable visibility allow for fantastic dives. Tthere is also a lot to discover for the macro-lovers.
This dive site is accessible via Starnberg, in the direction of Possenhofen. At the first kiosk turn right into the driveway and unload your car. Take your equipment to the lake and park your car at the very large parking lot. In good weather, the kiosk is open all year round.
The entrance to this site is located on the southern shore of Lake Walchensee, off the toll road to Jachenau, and can be reached via a small staircase from the parking lot. Underwater you will find rugged rock faces and large underwater rocks (20 to 40 m deep). In the crevices of the rocks you can find large eel rods.
Chargeable sunbathing lawn for divers; separate chargeable car park; because of the campsite always well-disposed holiday guests, relaxed atmosphere; beautiful mountain and lake scenery. The attractions (up to 32m depth) are close to the entry point, therefore comfortable diving; drifting fishing lines possible.
The dive site Camping Schwarzenau at the Achensee is a very versatile dive site, where you can visit greater depths quickly and where you can see very beautiful shore formations in shallow water, which are great for diving.
On the south side of the lake, about 2 km after the toll station in the direction of Jachenau, you will find the entrance “Am Hackl“ at a large parking lot. At a depth of 10 m you will find the wreck of a VW Beetle to the left, in front and behind it trees and rocks.
Very nice completely gutted dive site. Directly at the entrance, you will find an inverted boat and a bathtub as a diving bell. Along the line, you will find from 12 - 30m many nice little things and larger objects like a lift gondola.
Outside the bathing season, when many areas of the Starnberger See are closed for nature conservation reasons, diving is still allowed here. Slightly to the left at 25-30 m you will find the entrance to a smaller, stepped steep face. Straight ahead and slightly to the right between, 10 and 20m, you will find various “sights“.
From the entrance at the pebble beach on the left side of the Seeburg you reach the Allmannshauser Steilwand (steep face) by diving to the right from a depth of approx. 18m. On the left side the bottom slopes more gently, at 3-5m there is a rock garden. A varied dive site, for beginners as well as for advanced divers.
Leoni is one of the few year-round diveable entrances for Starnberger See. Popular in summer for courses (and therefore limited visibility), the dive site is underestimated the rest of the year: relaxed dives at shallower depths (up to 20 m), even after sunset (max. 1h!) with lots of life!
The Allmannshauser Steilwand is rightly known as one of the most beautiful dive sites in Germany. Diving from the shallow shore to the middle of the lake, you reach the edge after a few minutes at a depth of 12-20 meters, depending on the point of entry. Underneath is a wonderfully varied steep face.
Slightly hidden, next to the first roofing of the road south of Urfeld there is a small parking lot. This is the entrance to the Walchensee. On the right, from 5-10 m (depending on the season), a steel strip leads to an old car wreck at ~35 m, on the left it goes directly into a steep face.
Directly south of the village of Walchensee there is a parking lot from which a trail leads to the site entrance. Several underwater springs usually provide good visibility here. You can see a lot of sunken scraps, a small wreck, and beautiful trees on the other side of the bay.
The highlight in Berg is the so-called shingle wreck, which lies at a depth of about 38m. Another highlight is a sunken sailboat which lies in approx. 8m.
