The best Months to Dive in Maputo

Maputo offers year-round diving opportunities with varying conditions. Water temperatures range from 21°C–26°C/70°F–79°F, making it comfortable for divers throughout the year. Visibility typically ranges from 10 to 30 meters/33 to 98 feet, though it can fluctuate depending on the season and weather conditions.

From November to March, the region experiences warmer waters but also faces stronger winds and currents, particularly during the cyclone season, which can affect diving conditions. The cooler months from May to August generally offer more stable weather and calmer seas, making it an ideal time for diving. Despite these variations, diving is feasible all year, with each season offering unique underwater experiences.
