Nova Britanija je topla potapljaška destinacija, s temperaturami med 22 °C in 32 °C ter temperaturami vode med 28 °C in 29 °C. Potapljači se tukaj lahko potapljajo vse leto. Deževna sezona traja od decembra do aprila in jo sestavljajo mirna morja z večernimi nalivi. Suha sezona je topla, vendar z nekoliko bolj razburkanim morjem. Vidljivost je tukaj nadpovprečna vse leto.
