2. Uepi Welcome Jetty
Located near the Uepi Point, this site is perfect for macro photography enthusiasts. Pygmy seahorses can be found here amidst the vibrant coral. The adventure level is moderate, suitable for both scuba diving and freediving. The area is under ecological surveillance due to its rich biodiversity.
3. The Slot
This dive site is known for its sheer drop-offs and clear waters teeming with marine life such as reef sharks and large schools of fish. The adventure level is advanced, making it ideal for experienced scuba divers. The Slot is an underwater passage that provides thrilling drift dives, especially during incoming tides.
4. Charapoana Pass
A unique site featuring a variety of soft corals and vibrant reef life. The pass is frequented by manta rays and eagle rays. Adventure seekers will find it moderately challenging, suitable for both scuba diving and freediving. Its currents attract diverse marine species, making it a dynamic environment.
5. Rainbow Reef
Rainbow Reef is celebrated for its colorful coral gardens and diverse marine life, including turtles and reef fish. It offers an easy adventure level, suitable for beginner scuba divers. The site is part of a protected marine area, emphasizing conservation and ecological importance.
Najboljši meseci za potapljanje v Uepiju
Potapljanje v Uepiju ima dobre pogoje skozi vse leto. Od novembra do aprila je na Salomonovih otokih monsunsko obdobje, ko je v regiji bolj vetrovno in vlažno. Vidljivost doseže do 30 metrov, temperatura vode pa je vedno ugodna in se giblje med 27 °C in 31 °C. Od junija do novembra je najboljše obdobje za opazovanje kladvenih morskih psov.
