Isla de Lobos
A protected reserve famous for large colonies of South American sea lions and occasional fur seals, with coastal fish and invertebrates. Adventure: easy to intermediate. Type: scuba and freediving (freediving possible). Special: marine reserve and wildlife viewing.
Punta del Este Reefs
Rocky reefs with temperate fish, octopus and nudibranchs amid kelp-like algal beds. Adventure: intermediate. Type: scuba and occasional freediving. Special: dramatic rocky formations and strong currents at times near popular beaches.
La Paloma Coast
Rocky outcrops and sandy bottoms hosting benthic invertebrates, fish schools and crabs. Adventure: easy to intermediate. Type: scuba. Special: clear bays for sheltered dives and seasonal larger species sightings.
Punta del Diablo Shores
Rugged shoreline with reefs, sponges and small schools of fish; sightings of rays and occasional pelagics. Adventure: intermediate to advanced due to surge and currents. Type: scuba. Special: natural underwater rock formations and dramatic surf zone.
Cabo Polonio Area
Coastal reefs and sandy plains with diverse invertebrates and temperate fish; nearby sea lion colonies on shore. Adventure: easy to intermediate. Type: scuba and freediving (freediving possible). Special: near protected coastal dunes and conservation zones.
烏拉圭最值得一看的野生動物
烏拉圭溫帶的沿海礁石區與岩岸，棲息著多種小型溫帶礁魚——如鰕虎魚、鰕虎魚科魚類及溫帶海鱸——此外還有馬鮪魚群，偶爾可見鰹魚蹤跡。受保護的海灣中常有甲殼類動物和裸鰓類；能見度與水深則因地點而異。
季節性亮點：夏季（11 月至 3 月）可更頻繁地觀測到海龜（偶爾可見紅蠵龜及其他海龜）、遠洋魟魚，以及零星出現的鯊魚——多為小型近岸物種。 所見生物取決於地點與季節：海灣及河口潛水能觀察到更多底棲生物，而外海潛水則可觀賞到遠洋生物。
