Ecplore Mexiko-Stadt

Mexiko-Stadt ist die Hauptstadt von Mexiko und liegt im Center des Landes. Die Stadt liegt im Landesinneren, hat aber einen großen Flughafen, von dem aus die Tauchziele an der West- und Ostküste nur einen kurzen Flug entfernt sind. An der Ostküste, die dem Pazifischen Ozean zugewandt ist, sind San Carlos, Punta Mita, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco und Huatulco beliebte Tauchplätze. Vor der Ostküste liegen die Socorro-Inseln und Guadalupe, die für das Tauchen im Käfig mit dem Weißen Hai bekannt sind. An der Westküste Mexikos mit Blick auf den Golf von Mexiko und das Karibische Meer liegen Veracruz und Städte auf der Halbinsel Yucatán wie Cancún, Playa del Carmen und Tulum. Vorgelagerte Inseln wie Cozumel und Isla Mujeres ziehen ebenfalls viele Taucher an.

Es gibt eine Handvoll Tauchshops in Mexiko-Stadt, die Zertifizierungskurse anbieten, bei denen der Unterricht und die Tauchgänge im begrenzten Wasser im Shop stattfinden und die Freiwasser-Tauchgänge an einem der Tauchziele an der Küste durchgeführt werden.

Las Marietas Islands (Nayarit)

Arrecife Alacranes (Yucatán)

Isla San Agustin (Huatulco, Oaxaca)

Best for intermediate-level scuba diving, this site features caves, crevices, and swim-throughs. Divers encounter tropical fish, rays, and turtles among rugged rock formations. The calm bay makes it great for relaxed exploration with geological interest.

Roca Partida (Revillagigedo Islands)

A technical and advanced scuba site, Roca Partida is famed for its steep walls and large pelagic life. Expect encounters with hammerheads, manta rays, whale sharks, and tuna. Remote and only accessible by liveaboard, it’s a world-class dive adventure.

Los Morros de Potosí (Guerrero)

With dramatic granite outcrops above and below the water, this site is perfect for easy to moderate scuba and freediving. Common sightings include sea turtles, reef fish, and moray eels. Swim-throughs and caves add an exciting geological element to the dive.
