Der Bundesstaat Mexiko ist einer der 31 Bundesstaaten und grenzt nördlich an die föderale Einheit Mexiko-Stadt. Mexiko ist ein Binnenstaat, aber der internationale Flughafen in Mexiko-Stadt ist leicht zu erreichen und die meisten Tauchziele sind nur einen kurzen Flug entfernt. An der West- und Ostküste Mexikos gibt es eine Reihe von beliebten Tauchzielen. An der Ostküste, die dem Pazifischen Ozean zugewandt ist, liegen San Carlos, Punta Mita, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco und Huatulco sowie die Socorro-Inseln und Guadalupe vor der Küste. An der Westküste Mexikos, die dem Golf von Mexiko und dem Karibischen Meer zugewandt ist, liegen Veracruz, Cancún, Playa del Carmen und Tulum sowie die Inseln Cozumel und Isla Mujeres vor der Küste.
Tauchshops im Bundesstaat Mexiko führen ihre Kurse und Pool/begrenzten Freiwasser-Tauchgänge im eigenen Haus durch, lagern aber die Freiwasser-Tauchgänge an eine der verschiedenen Küstenorte aus.

Las Marietas Islands (Nayarit)

Arrecife Alacranes (Yucatán)

Isla San Agustin (Huatulco, Oaxaca)
This site offers intermediate-level scuba diving among dramatic underwater rock formations, including caves, crevasses, and tunnels. Divers encounter reef fish, rays, and sometimes turtles in this geologically fascinating site at the mouth of Bahía de San Agustin.
Roca Partida (Revillagigedo Archipelago)
A world-class site for advanced and technical scuba divers, Roca Partida rises from deep ocean and hosts sharks (silvertip, hammerhead, whale sharks), tuna, and manta rays. Strong currents and deep walls make this a thrilling dive in a UNESCO-listed marine reserve.
Los Morros de Potosí (Guerrero)
Composed of three white granite islets, this site offers easy to moderate scuba and freediving. Beneath the surface lie caves and overhangs, home to sea turtles, moray eels, and colorful reef fish. It’s a scenic and lesser-known spot, perfect for those seeking off-the-beaten-path exploration.
