Entdecke Port Royal
Port Royal ist eine Stadt am Ende der Mündung des Kingston Harbour, im Kingston Parish, an der Südostküste der Karibikinsel Jamaika. Die Hauptattraktion dieser Region ist die berühmte versunkene Stadt Port Royal, die 1692 nach einem Erdbeben vollständig versunken ist. Aber auch sonst hat diese Region viel zu bieten: Steilwände, eine Vielzahl von Wracks sowie flache und tiefe Riffe. Die wenigen Tauchbasen in der Region nehmen Taucher auf einer kurzen Bootsfahrt von den Port Royal Cays aus mit, um diese Tauchplätze zu besuchen.

Die besten Monate zum Tauchen in Port Royal
Es ist das ganze Jahr über möglich, hier zu tauchen, aber zwischen Juni und September sind die Bedingungen am besten. Von Oktober bis Mai besteht eine höhere Regenwahrscheinlichkeit, die sich aber nur selten auf das Tauchen auswirkt. Da die Lufttemperaturen das ganze Jahr über warm sind, liegen die Wassertemperaturen ganzjährig zwischen 26 und 28 Grad Celsius. Die Sicht ist insgesamt gut, kann aber je nach Wetterbedingungen abnehmen. Der Durchschnitt liegt bei 15 Metern.
