Dive Syndicate Thailand continues the story of one of Khao Lak’s most established dive operations. Since 1996, ME Diving Khao Lak has welcomed divers and snorkelers to the Andaman Sea under the care of Maew from Thailand and Ernst from Switzerland.
Dive Syndicate grew out of friendship, shared dives, and a love for doing things properly. Lily and Martin first met while working as dive professionals in Khao Lak, before their journey took them on to the Maldives. It was there that they met Tom and Laura, with Martin as their Advanced Open Water instructor. What started as a course quickly became a lasting friendship, built through shared dive trips, years of staying in touch, and a connection that held strong even when there were oceans between them.
Panda became part of the story through another chapter in the Maldives, where he and Martin worked together managing SSI centres across the islands. Over time, these different paths came together through trust, experience, and the shared feeling that one day, they wanted to build something of their own.
Over the years, the idea of doing something together kept coming back. Each of us brings something different to the team: Martin’s experience, energy, and love for warm-water diving; Lily’s background in dive travel, insurance, and customer care; Tom’s calm, practical mindset; Laura’s honest, grounded way of seeing the underwater world; and Panda’s deep passion for teaching, marine life, and helping nervous divers discover what they are capable of.
Dive Syndicate came alive from that mix: a dive centre built by people who trust each other, enjoy diving together, and believe that great diving is about more than just getting underwater. It is about feeling welcome, being looked after, learning with confidence, and joining the right crew for the adventure.
