Lake Ohrid – Bay of Bones

This UNESCO-listed lake features endemic Ohrid trout, carp, and rich aquatic plants. Easy to intermediate level. Scuba and freediving possible. Submerged archaeological remains near the reconstructed prehistoric settlement add cultural interest.

Lake Ohrid – Gradishte Wall

A rocky drop-off with clear water and schools of small fish along limestone formations. Suitable for intermediate divers. Scuba diving only. Depth changes and excellent summer visibility make it a popular recreational site.

Lake Prespa

A quieter, high-altitude lake with carp, perch, and birdlife above the surface. Easy conditions for recreational divers. Scuba and freediving possible. Ecologically significant as part of Prespa National Park.

Mavrovo Lake

Known for its submerged church and tree trunks, this mountain reservoir hosts freshwater fish and limited vegetation. Intermediate level due to depth and cold water. Scuba diving only. A unique freshwater exploration site.

Matka Canyon (Treska River)

A dramatic canyon setting with spring-fed clarity and rocky underwater terrain. Advanced level due to currents and confined areas. Scuba diving required. Part of a protected natural area with striking limestone scenery.
