New Britain är en av öarna i Papua Nya Guineas öregion. Den frodiga grönskan på land är en vacker kontrast till det turkosa vattnet. Dessa vatten är fyllda med ett brett utbud av olika typer av dyk som garanterat kommer att locka dykare av alla intressen. I det varma, klara vattnet finns ett stort antal vrak, stora vulkaniska undervattensberg, blomstrande rev och branta väggar. De största dykstäderna är Rabaul och Kimbe, och andra populära destinationer är Witu Island och Fathers Reef. 1. Susan’s Reef

Situated in Rabaul, George Wreck is a Japanese minelayer from WWII lying between 12 and 60 meters deep. It accommodates divers of various skill levels, with abundant marine life inhabiting the wreck. This site offers an easy to advanced scuba diving experience, with historical significance and fascinating underwater exploration.
3. Tom, Dick, and Harry
These three interconnected reefs in Rabaul feature a 15-meter deep ridge, each offering unique marine life. The site is colorful and thrilling for scuba diving, suitable for all levels. 4. Reimers Wall
Reimers Wall in Rabaul is noted for its exhilarating wall dive that drops to 50 meters. It offers overhangs and small swim-throughs, making it suitable for advanced scuba divers. The site is home to a variety of marine species and provides a challenging yet rewarding dive experience.

New Britain är en varm dykdestination, med temperaturer mellan 22°C-32°C/72°F-90°F och vattentemperaturer mellan 28°C-29°C/82°F-84°F. Dykare kan dyka här året runt. Regnperioden pågår från december till april och består av lugnt hav med regnskurar på kvällarna. Torrsäsongen är varm men med lite grövre hav. Sikten är över genomsnittet här året runt.
