This is the core value of our dive team. Every dive for us is a clean-up dive, where we pick up garbage or clean up ghost fishing gear. We will also teach you some simple techniques in how to rescue coral, at no extra cost. Our dive pros are all passionate about the ocean, so come join us!
We offer courses from trying out Scuba, to getting certified for Open Water up to Instructor Candidate level certifications for both local and international diving enthusiasts.
We are certified to teach SSI - Scuba Schools International courses in all levels with specialties from Photo & Video Specialties , Full Faced Mask Diving and Dive Propulsion Vehicle diving as real life diving adventures underwater in the following languages:
English, Tagalog
We can also arrange for an instructor to teach in a language not listed above with advance notice.
The ocean already has enough problems going into it each and every day, so as a dive team, we at Silver Reef Dive Resort make every dive into a clean-up dive. By getting into this habit, we as instructors for SSI hope that our students follow our example and make the ocean a little bit cleaner every time we go into the water.
We’ve picked up a myriad of ocean trash during our thousands of dives ranging from bits of plastic, to sacks, to shoes, diapers, and napkins, and sometimes we get reports of discarded fishing gear.
With our extensive collective experiences, including technical overhead diving in Arctic waters, we are capable of extracting huge swaths of nets and hundreds of meters of fishing line. On the left is a video of a net recovery we did in our house reef where we have resident Green and Hawksbill turtles amongst a plethora of other marine life.
Silver Reef Dive Resort focuses on responsible tourism by up-cycling marine debris for ocean conservation, allowing guests to do good and feel good about the community we are based in.
We promote eco-education to the community through local procurement of goods and by supporting local artists through their handicrafts, paintings, and murals.
As a dive resort, we aim to educate both divers and non-divers on the importance of Coral Rescue through Coral Quest workshops conducted by certified coral gardening professionals.
Silver Reef Dive Resort is a zero-waste establishment as we highlight Community, Culture, and Conservation. Our efforts on going full throttle to manage trash and eliminate waste are to create a self-sustaining dive resort that doesn’t need protection.
Culture and Art
Meaningful Art and architecture make the Resort’s identity simulate a fluid flow of inspirational symbols. These symbolic visuals allow heightened awareness that could move mindsets into proper actions. We nurture, encourage, and inspire local talents by inviting them to contribute to our ocean advocacy in the form of handicrafts, paintings, and murals.
We communicate these much-needed advocacies as a meaningful “art walk” experience that inspires for positive change for the Oceans.
