Monad Shoal est considéré comme le meilleur site de plongée au monde pour observer les rares et timides requins renards. Ces requins vivent normalement dans les profondeurs mais viennent régulièrement ici tôt le matin pour la station de nettoyage.
An advanced dive site where using nitrox is recommended to increase bottom time while waiting for the Thresher shark sightings. They are regularly seen just before or during sunrise at depths of 22-27 meters. The cleaning fishes like the bluestreak and the moon cleaner wrasse makes this site a cleaning station for the sharks. They clean the skin, gills, and mouth of the Threshers from ectoparasites and gnathiids.
