マンリーをエクスプローラーする
マンリーでのダイビングは大きなビジネスであり、年間何千人もの観光客を引き寄せるだけでなく、シドニー出身者に水中での逃避行を提供している。マンリーには、シドニーで最も人気のあるサーフィン・ビーチがあり、海への長い歴史がある。
ダイブリゾートはなく、ダイブセンターがあるのみで、ほとんどのダイブセンターがビギナーからプロまですべてのダイビングコースを提供している。ダイビングスポットが海岸に近く、水面を吹き上げる南風が強いため、ライブボートはない。
マンリーでのダイビングのハイライトは、ダイブサイトの多様性である。ボートダイビングやレックダイビングもあるが、初心者ダイバーや海が荒れているときに最適な浅瀬や岸辺のダイビングポイントも数多くある。野生生物のハイライトは、有名なウィーディーシードラゴン、オグロメジロザメ、巨大なイカなどである。
Top Manly Dive Sites
1. The Apartments
This reef dive ranges from 10–24m and offers frequent sightings of grey nurse sharks, schooling fish, cuttlefish, and Port Jackson sharks. Swim-throughs and boulders add structure. Suitable for all scuba divers in calm conditions.
2. Shelly Beach
An easy shore dive to 12m with rich marine life including wobbegongs, Port Jackson sharks, blue gropers, octopus, and even weedy sea dragons. Calm and beginner-friendly, it’s one of Sydney’s most accessible dive spots.
3. Fairy Bower
Named for local fairy penguins, this 7–10m site is home to rays, sharks, blue gropers, and cuttlefish. Occasionally exposed to swell, it's best dived in good conditions. Great for underwater photography and snorkelling.
4. Fairlight
An excellent macro site for photographers, this shallow reef (5–7m) is accessible via beach entry. Expect a mix of reef fish, nudibranchs, and eagle ray sightings. A relaxed dive ideal for beginners and intermediate divers.
5. The Centurion
Wreck Located in Sydney Harbour at 18m, this historic shipwreck is suited for intermediate divers. Wreck structure is encrusted with marine life and home to schooling fish. A unique dive combining history and underwater exploration.
マンリーでのダイビングに最適な月
男らしいダイビングは一年中可能である。夏季の日中の気温は20度半ば、2月の水温は最高23度である。夏に最も雨が降るが、ダイビングには影響しない。ただし、直後のショアダイブでは視界が悪くなることもある。
5月から10月までの冬季は、気温が10℃半ば、水温が18℃となる。冬でもダイビングは十分可能だが、強い南風が吹くと海が非常に荒れ、ダイビングボートが乱れることがある。
