ティンギ島はマレーシアのジョホール州にあるビーチタウン、メルシンの沖合30キロメートルに位置する島で、透き通った暖かい海に囲まれ、豊富な海洋生物が生息しています。ティンギ島を一言で表すと「静寂」です。そしてここでは、海面の上と下でそれが当てはまります。海面の上には、このエリアにあるすべての島の中で最も標高が高い死火山があり、豊かな緑に覆われ、周囲を白い砂浜が囲む、まさに穏やかな楽園です。海中では、ダイバーは12のダイブサイトを楽しめます。そのすべてに、繁栄するサンゴ礁と活気に満ちた海洋生物が生息しています。ティンギ島にダイビングセンターはありませんが、隣接するシブ島にあります。

この地域が非常に魅力的である理由は、理想的な気候にも関係しています。一年を通して温暖であり、雨季は12月から2月までのわずか3ヶ月間のみであるため、一年のうち9ヶ月間は素晴らしいダイビングのコンディションが続きます。ここの水温は27度から30度の範囲であり、言い換えれば一年を通して温暖です。透明度は10メートルから25メートルの範囲であり、最も透明度が低くなるのは雨季と、一年で最も暑い月である8月です。
