Choo Choo Diving & Aquatic Center

Choo Choo Diving and Aquatic Center was established over 50 years ago by Steve and Mary Ann Newman who bought the business in 1992. They focused on creating a family run business focusing on families. In 2004, Malu Hammans came on board to create a premier Swim School for the area. While we certify hundreds of divers a year, we also train hundreds to swim and be safe in and around the water. Malu bought Steve and MaryAnn’s share in the store and is now the controlling partner, so they can now enjoy retirement. We support Scuba School International in the Chattanooga area by teaching SCUBA (OWD through Instructor levels), Swim School International swim lessons, and Freediving. Choo Choo Diving and Aquatic Center has been a Diamond Award Dealer since 2002.

Choo Choo Diving and Aquatic Center staff is committed to training our students as if they are members of our family, because we want them to feel like family. We are in the business to create a confident, loyal, and safe water enthusiasts who are committed to the conservation of our lakes, rivers and oceans. We provide training from “Baby and Me” swim all the way through to SCUBA Instructor. We strive to create a fun and safe learning environment, so that everyone has a great time while learning.

Choo Choo Diving and Aquatic is a full service, fully stocked SCUBA/swim facility. Our service technicians are highly trained and certified on all of the equipment we sell. There is an on-site fill station for SCUBA tanks and we fill Nitrox as well by appointment. We not only provide excellent training, we also have an extensive travel program with at least six out of country and six in-country trips annually. The choices for trips are diverse by location and cost, from the South Pacific to the Caribbean.
