ミクロネシア連邦のパラオ共和国最大の島、バベルダオブ島（首都ンゲルルムドがある）は、初心者から上級者まで、あらゆるレベルのダイバーに無限のチャンスを提供しています。ここでは、エントリーレベルの認定コースから、ディープダイビングやレックダイビングのスペシャリティコースまで、多様な体験ができる適切なダイビングスポットが数多くあるため、最高のダイビングコースを受講できます。さらに、バベルダオブ島から橋で簡単にアクセスできるコロールには、ほとんどのダイビングセンターやダイビングリゾートがあり、さらに魅力的なダイブサイトが点在しています。人気のダイビングスポットは通常、コロールからボートで45～60分程度の距離にあり、ダイブサイトの大部分はロックアイランド、ペリリュー、ゲメリス周辺に集中しています。
島々の南、バリアリーフ内に位置する主要なダイブサイトには、切り立った壁、第二次世界大戦の沈船、そして穏やかなリーフなどがあります。バベルダオブ島からはパラオのほぼどこへでも行くことができ、多種多様なダイビングを楽しむことができます。年間を通して利用できる陸上ダイビングショップは数多くありますが、パラオのほとんどの地域を訪れたいダイバーには、ダイブクルーズも素晴らしい選択肢です。
バベルダオブでのダイビングのベストシーズン
パラオは全体的に熱帯雨林地帯ですが、降雨量のほとんどは夜間です。バベルダオブ島とその周辺の島々では、気温の変化が少ないため、一年を通してスクーバダイビングが可能です。2月と3月は降雨量が最も少なく、6月から8月は最も多くなります。最適なダイビングコンディションを求めるなら、9月から5月がおすすめ時期です。
