南アフリカの東ケープ州に位置するポートエリザベスでのダイビングは、あらゆるレベルの愛好家に魅惑的な水中冒険を提供する。この "フレンドリー・シティ "は、多様な海洋生物の拠点であるアルゴア湾の活気ある海岸線に沿って位置している。ダイバーは、ザトウクジラ、ミナミセミクジラ、アザラシ、イルカなどの遠洋生物が回遊する経路で遭遇するスリルを味わうことができる。水中景観も同様に息をのむようなもので、深いクレバス、ピナクル、ドロップオフがあり、繁栄したサンゴ礁によって補完されている。

ポートエリザベスでのダイビングは一年中可能であるが、気温は一年を通して変化する。夏（12月、1月）の水温は22℃前後である。冬（7月～8月）は14℃まで下がることもある。これらの温度から身を守るには、最低でも5mm、グローブ、ブーツ、多くのダイビングでは7mm、フード、ドライスーツが必要だ。視界は、その日のコンディションによって1メートルから20メートルまで変化する。

気温は、東海岸北部の高温多湿な気候から逃れることができる。気温は、冬は10℃から夏は23℃まで変化し、極端な高低差はまれである。

1. Sardine Run

This world-famous migration occurs from April to June, featuring millions of sardines forming bait balls. Predators such as sharks, penguins, seals, and dolphins add to the spectacle. The dive demands an advanced level, with deep-water drift diving where scuba is preferred. It's a humbling, intense experience.

2. Orange Wall

Named for its bright orange Spirastrella sponges, this site is adorned with abundant marine life. It features a pinnacle at 16 meters and a large swim-through teeming with life. Suitable for both scuba and freediving, it offers an easy-to-moderate diving adventure, highlighting vibrant underwater formations.

3. Bell Buoy

Close to the beach, this site boasts interesting topography covered in corals, sea squirts, anemones, and sea fans. Notably, a large square hole in the reef often shelters ragged-tooth sharks. This site is ideal for easy scuba diving, allowing divers to explore the diverse marine ecosystem.

4. Phillip's Reef

Characterized by gullies filled with sharks such as leopard, pyjama, and ragged-tooth varieties, this site offers a colorful reef that is rich in macro life. The adventure level is moderate, suitable for scuba diving, providing opportunities to hunt for diverse marine creatures in a vibrant setting.
