마리아나 제도는 모든 수준의 다이버들을 만족시킬 만한 다양한 다이빙 포인트를 제공하여 여러 다이빙 강습을 받기에 최적의 장소입니다. 때묻지 않은 아름다운 산호초에는 산호초 물고기, 상어, 가오리, 거북이 등 풍부한 인도-태평양 해양 생물이 서식하고 있으며, 절벽처럼 깎아지른 듯한 수중 벽과 역사적인 난파선까지 다채로운 명소가 기다리고 있습니다. 다이빙 센터와 리조트도 많아 다이빙을 즐기기에 부족함이 없으며, 일부 다이버들은 미크로네시아 제도를 자주 순회하는 라이브어보드(숙박형 다이빙 보트)를 이용하기도 합니다.
마리아나 제도에서의 스쿠버 다이빙은 일반적으로 사이판, 티니안, 로타, 괌에서 즐길 수 있습니다. 사이판은 새하얀 백사장과 동굴, 가오리 클리닝 스테이션, 건강한 산호초 등 뛰어난 다이빙 포인트로 유명합니다. 인근의 티니안 섬에는 아직 개발되지 않은 아름다운 다이빙 포인트가 많으며, 웅장한 동굴인 티니안 그로토와 사진작가들에게 인기 있는 투 코럴 헤드 등이 대표적입니다.
로타는 수정처럼 맑은 바닷물 속에 제2차 세계 대전 당시 일본 화물선이었던 쇼운마루를 비롯한 여러 난파선을 품고 있는 곳으로 다이버들을 맞이합니다. 그 밖에도 풍부한 해양 생물이 서식하는 코랄 가든과 테이블 팁, 그리고 천상의 빛이 동굴을 장식하는 셰나논 동굴 등 주목할 만한 곳들이 있습니다.
괌은 역사 애호가들의 천국으로, 수많은 1차 세계 대전 당시 침몰한 난파선을 탐험할 수 있으며, 초보자도 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 곳도 있습니다. 형형색색의 산호초와 절벽도 감상할 수 있지만, 주요 볼거리는 바로 난파선입니다. 특히 1차 세계 대전 당시 침몰한 SMS 코모란호와 2차 세계 대전 중 침몰한 도카이마루호는 나란히 위치해 있어, 두 차례의 세계 대전에서 침몰한 난파선을 직접 만져볼 수 있는 세계 유일의 장소로 알려져 있습니다.
전반적으로 사이판은 더 발전되어 있고 활기 넘치는 곳입니다. 좀 더 조용하고 전통적인 분위기를 원한다면 티니안이나 로타 같은 작은 섬들이 좋은 선택입니다. 마리아나 제도는 모두 환상적인 다이빙을 즐길 수 있는 곳이므로, 어느 곳이 더 좋다고 말하기는 어렵습니다. 모든 섬에 훌륭한 다이빙 포인트가 있기 때문입니다.

The Grotto, Saipan

Eagle Ray City (Pipe), Saipan

Fleming, Tinian
