The beautiful Dive Center is located directly on the arrival jetty. Our Dive Center is less than a minute boat ride away from Maldives most beautiful House Reef. Le Meridien Maldives House Reef is the Best House Reef in the Maldives. It is located on the north side of Le Meridien Maldives, Lhaviyani Atoll. Le Meridien Maldives House Reef is the best example of Maldivian biodiversity. Only a minute boat shuttle from Sub Oceanic’s Dive Center at Le Meridien Maldives away! It is filled with countless species of marine life. Without doubt one of the Best House Reef in the Maldives for snorkeling or scuba diving! On the western side the reef slopes to depths of 20-30m. The top reef boasts an array of healthy hard corals, providing a habitat for a diverse variety of marine species. Along this reef slope you can tick many things off your bucket list: green and hawksbill turtles at cleaning stations, large schools of snappers, surgeonfish, pufferfish and unicorn fish. Looking into the blue, passing reef sharks as well as eagle rays can be spotted! If you are lucky, you can even have amazing encounters with manta rays. Further out from the reef, in “Macroworld”, macro photographers will feel immediately at home. All our boats literally start from the Dive Center’s doorsteps. Located at the southern edge of Lhaviyani Atoll, it is the ideal starting point for unforgettable marine encounters like turtles or hundreds of Dolphins!
Sub Oceanic Maldives Watersports Center was set up by our talented watersports team leader Nuttey and is located on the main beach next to the Velaa Restaurant and Bar – just one step away from the lagoon, the main pool and the fantastic House Reef. Another masterpiece of Maldivian handcraft works can be found at our Marine Center, which is situated between the Kids Club and the Riviera Bar. From the Marine Center beach our guests have direct access to the biologically value able Mangroves of Lhaviyani Atoll.
Candice Thila is een prachtig klein rif met een top van ongeveer 5 meter en een bodem van ongeveer 30 meter. Het ligt 15 bootminuten ten noorden van Le Meridien Maldives.
Het huisrif van Thilamaafushi ligt in het noorden van het eiland. Het ligt beschut tegen de elementen en is daarom vrijwel het hele jaar toegankelijk voor zowel duikers als snorkelaars. Het biedt vier verschillende duikplaatsen en omvat een thila, een typische Maldivische rifstructuur.
De duikplaats zelf bestaat eigenlijk uit twee duikplaatsen die worden gescheiden door een zandplateau op 8 meter diepte. Ten zuiden van het plateau vinden we een grote lagune met een gemiddelde diepte van ongeveer 12 meter. Aan de andere kant naar het noorden en noordwesten ligt een glooiend en lang rif, faru genaamd, van 10 tot 30 meter.
Ahga Giri is een klein rif met een top op 5 meter. De plek staat bekend om zijn verpleegsterhaaien die hier behoorlijk groot worden. Een adembenemende ervaring zonder weerga!
Miyaru is het Dhivehi (Maledivische) woord voor haai. Gaa betekent zoveel als "Blok" in de lokale taal. Door beide delen samen te voegen ontstaat de perfecte beschrijving van deze plek. Om precies te zijn "Nurse Shark Block" zou de spijker op zijn kop slaan...
Dit hoogtepunt bevindt zich in het noordoostelijke kanaal van Lhaviyani Atoll. Je vindt er een groot plateau dat bedekt is met koraalblokken die tijdens de zuidwestelijke moesson fungeren als reinigingsstations voor de manta's.
Runway dankt zijn naam aan de parallel gelegen landingsbaan voor watervliegtuigen. Het is een gemakkelijke en mooie duik langs een koraalhelling vol onderwaterleven. Vanaf 2 meter bovenaan bereikt het rif een diepte van ongeveer 20 meter.
Een boottochtje van vijf minuten naar het oosten brengt ons naar het naburige eiland Olhuvelifsuhi. De ondiepten zijn bedekt met zand, daarom noemen we deze duikstek ook wel "het melkachtige zandrif".
