Top Oshikoto Dive Sites
Lake Otjikoto
A famous sinkhole lake with crystal-clear waters and submerged war relics from World War I. Scuba diving here is advanced due to depth. Expect freshwater fish, aquatic plants, and dramatic limestone walls. Visibility is excellent year-round.
Lake Guinas
Another deep sinkhole, Guinas features turquoise water, rare cichlids, and lush aquatic vegetation. Scuba diving is technical due to depth and overhead risks, but the biodiversity and geological formations make it a unique freshwater dive.

Near the main lake entry, this shallow section is ideal for freediving and beginner scuba divers. Fish schools thrive among rocky ledges, with aquatic plants creating habitats. The easy conditions make it accessible for relaxed exploration.
Guinas Cavern Edge
For advanced divers, the cavern-like formations along Lake Guinas’ rim offer dramatic drop-offs and shadowy passages. Scuba diving only, with strong buoyancy control required. Expect rare cichlids and surreal limestone structures in this secluded setting.
Otjikoto Historical Zone
A scuba site where divers can explore submerged cannons, rifles, and equipment discarded during WWI. Adventure level is moderate to advanced due to depth. While fish life is limited, the wreck-like features give it cultural and historical importance.
