Our logo represents: Manaia represents: The Manaia is a mythical creature in Maori culture. The Manaia represents the balance between the sky, the earth and the sea, always displayed in profile half in the our world half in the spirit world. Its symbol is used as a guardian against evil. Dive flag represents: Incorporated in the word Dive is a conventional dive flag used globally to signal a diver down and any vessels are to keep well clear at slow speed. Sub Aquatic Specialists represents: Dive Aotearoa’s area of expertise and represents our high quality training philosophy. Red represents: Te Whei Ao (coming into being). It symbolizes Papatuanuku, the earth-mother, the sustainer of all living things, both the land and active forces. Black represents: Te Korekore (the realm of potential being). Symbolizing the long darkness from which the earth emerged, as well as signifying Ranginui, the sky father floating above the earth. White represents: Te Ao Marama (the realm of being and light) was created when Rangi and Papa were separated by their children. It symbolizes the physical world, purity, harmony, enlightenment and balance. Aotearoa text in white also represents (the) long white cloud. Scuba Schools international logo also utilizes red, black and white colors.
WHO IS AOTEAROA DIVE Aotearoa Dive is an SSI multi award winning recreational, extended range, SCR, freediving, classified diving and instructor training centre based in Rotorua on the North Island of Aotearoa (New Zealand). We offer entry level “learn to dive“ programs and specialise in advanced, technical, SCR diver training, classified diving and professional career development . We are also Sidemount training experts. Our services also include dive equipment retail and hire, gas cylinder fills/Hydro/Visual testing, SCUBA/Dive equipment servicing and diving equipment consultation. We conduct regular clean up events in our lakes and oceans and have an active dive club - (Ngā Manaia dive club). HMNZS Canterbury dinonaktifkan pada akhir Maret 2005 dan ditenggelamkan pada 3 November 2007 di Deep Water Cove di Bay of Islands, sehingga menjadi tempat yang tepat untuk penyelaman bangkai terumbu karang buatan.
Northern Arch adalah situs terkenal yang sering kali memiliki spesies pelagis besar. Lengkungan ini sangat dalam dan memiliki kedalaman lebih dari 30 meter, terdapat struktur yang menarik di kedua sisi lengkungan dan sisi utara lengkungan yang terus melandai.
Middle Arch adalah salah satu lokasi terbaik untuk menyelam di Poor Knights. Lengkungan ini memiliki dasar di kedalaman 18 meter dan melandai hingga 40 meter lebih di ujung Utara dan Selatan lengkungan. Ada juga gua yang menarik dengan kantong udara di dekat pintu masuk Barat Daya ke Arch di bawah garis putih vertikal yang terlihat dari permukaan.
Lengkungan ini membawa penyelam dari sisi barat pulau ke sisi timur. Dinding di luar lengkungan mencapai kedalaman 30m, sedangkan bagian dalam lengkungan dangkal hingga hanya 5m. Di sisi timur sebelah kanan terdapat sekelompok batu besar dan sebuah gua kecil dengan kedalaman sekitar 20m.
Southern Arch adalah gapura curam yang menjulang setinggi lebih dari 40 meter di atas permukaan. Sisi-sisinya curam dan vertikal, turun hingga hanya 10 m di ujung utara dan miring hingga 40 m atau lebih di ujung selatan lengkungan. Lokasi penyelaman ini memiliki arus yang kuat.
Sisi utara Danger Rock turun hingga 18 meter, melengkung ke puncak di ketinggian 9 meter, kemudian turun ke kedalaman 45 dan 50 meter ke batu-batu besar. Sisi situs ini memiliki arus yang kuat, dan di sisi barat, dua puncak menjulang dari kedalaman 30m, membentuk ngarai sempit yang dapat dilalui para penyelam.
Tempat latihan yang bagus dan cocok untuk menyelam sepanjang tahun. Dingy yang cekung di kedalaman 11 meter adalah tujuan yang bagus untuk menyelam. Danau Rotoma terbentuk di dalam kaldera Rotoma ketika aliran lava dari ledakan kawah besar memblokir saluran keluarnya 9.500 tahun yang lalu.
Lokasi yang bagus untuk pelatihan, memiliki beberapa permukaan tebing yang bagus dan struktur batuan melingkar yang dibuat oleh penyelam sebagai titik referensi. Topografi dasar dapat mengalami pendangkalan jika terganggu, daya apung yang baik adalah suatu keharusan di lokasi ini.
