Rabaul es un destino de buceo cálido, con temperaturas que oscilan entre 22°C-32°C/72°F-90°F, y temperaturas del agua que oscilan entre 28°C-29°C/82°F-84°F. Los buceadores pueden bucear aquí todo el año. La estación húmeda va de diciembre a abril y consiste en mares tranquilos con chubascos vespertinos. La estación seca es cálida pero con mares algo más agitados. La visibilidad es superior a la media durante todo el año.
