Stát Mexiko je jedním z 31 států a sousedí s federálním celkem Mexico City (severně od něj). Jedná se o vnitrozemský stát, nicméně mezinárodní letiště v Mexico City je snadno dostupné a většina destinací pro potápění s přístrojem je vzdálena jen krátkou cestu letadlem. Na západním a východním pobřeží Mexika se nachází řada oblíbených destinací pro potápění s přístrojem. Na východním pobřeží směřujícím k Tichému oceánu se nacházejí San Carlos, Punta Mita, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco a Huatulco, na mimobřeží pak ostrovy Socorro a Guadalupe. Na západním pobřeží Mexika, které směřuje k Mexickému zálivu a Karibskému moři, se nacházejí města Veracruz, Cancún, Playa del Carmen a Tulum s ostrovy Cozumel a Isla Mujeres na mimobřeží.
Potápěčské obchody ve státě Mexiko budou provádět své kurzy a ponory v uzavřené vodě (v bazénu) ve vlastní režii, ale ponory na otevřené vodě budou zadávat do jedné z různých pobřežních destinací.

Las Marietas Islands (Nayarit)
This protected wildlife sanctuary offers easy to intermediate scuba and freediving in calm waters filled with nudibranchs, mollusks, sea fans, sponges, and colorful corals. Known for biodiversity, the area also features caves and unique swim-throughs like the Hidden Beach.
Arrecife Alacranes (Yucatán)

Roca Partida (Revillagigedo Archipelago)
A world-class site for advanced and technical scuba divers, Roca Partida rises from deep ocean and hosts sharks (silvertip, hammerhead, whale sharks), tuna, and manta rays. Strong currents and deep walls make this a thrilling dive in a UNESCO-listed marine reserve.
Los Morros de Potosí (Guerrero)
Composed of three white granite islets, this site offers easy to moderate scuba and freediving. Beneath the surface lie caves and overhangs, home to sea turtles, moray eels, and colorful reef fish. It’s a scenic and lesser-known spot, perfect for those seeking off-the-beaten-path exploration.
