Morecambe Area Divers opened its doors to the public in January 2009 offering scuba instruction by instructors with over 40 years of diving and instructing experience both in the UK and abroad. In 2017 MAD joined forces with the SSI with more instructors coming on board and in 2017 they were joined by Mohamed “Curly“ Mokhtar Elazab, an Instructor from the Red Sea with over 14 years of experience teaching scuba diving. In 2020 MAD Dive School was formed with Mark True and Curly as directors. Both MAD Dive School and Morecambe Area Divers are committed to providing every customer with the very finest dive equipment, dive education and dive travel, all with unequalled personal service.
The team at MAD Dive School are dedicated to your success and to make diving a lifetime of adventure through high quality training. The instructors will guide you at your own pace to a level of proficiency that ensures your continued enjoyment of the sport. We do this by teaching in small classes and flexible program schedules, and individual tuition where required. Capernwray es el sitio de buceo interior del noroeste frecuentado por muchos buceadores y escuelas. Suele abrir los fines de semana y los jueves en invierno y los miércoles hasta la noche en verano.
Algunos de los puntos de inmersión más famosos de St. Abbs se encuentran a sólo 50 m de la pared del puerto: "Cathedral Rock", "Big Green Carr", "Broad Craig" y "Little Carr". Se puede bucear en estos lugares desde la orilla del puerto o se puede llegar a otros lugares en barco de buceo.
Wastwater, el lago natural más profundo de Inglaterra. Situado en el Parque Nacional del Distrito de los Lagos, este lago se formó en un valle glaciar a 60 m sobre el nivel del mar. Tiene 4,8 km de largo, 500 m de ancho y alcanza una profundidad de 79 m en su punto más profundo. El lago es propiedad del National Trust y es un popular destino turístico.
Las Islas Farne son famosas por una colonia de 4,5 mil focas grises y por la gran variedad de lugares de buceo. La mayoría de los lugares se encuentran alrededor de las Farnes exteriores, con pecios y arrecifes para explorar.
