Perteneciente al grupo de las Nuevas Islas Georgia, los lugares de buceo de la isla de Ghizo ofrecen pecios de la II Guerra Mundial, numerosos arrecifes marinos, paredes que caen en picado y abundante vida marina bajo la superficie del océano, mientras que en tierra la isla está cubierta de frondosos bosques. Los mejores meses para bucear en la isla de Ghizo
Se puede bucear en la isla de Ghizo durante todo el año. A pesar de ello, la estación de los monzones, de enero a abril, conlleva una mayor probabilidad de lluvia y días ventosos. De junio a agosto es un periodo ligeramente más fresco que el resto del año, aunque las temperaturas siguen siendo cálidas y húmedas. Las temperaturas del agua son agradables durante todo el año, oscilando entre 27°C-31°C/81°F-88°F. Las mantarrayas se ven con más frecuencia entre noviembre y abril.
