Central Coast Divers – Divemaster Program
The Central Coast Divers Divemaster Program is designed to transform confident recreational divers into capable dive leaders who are ready to assist instructors, guide certified divers and become an essential part of the professional dive industry.
Delivered by Central Coast Divers on the NSW Central Coast of Australia, this program is conducted at one of the region’s most experienced diver training facilities. Training is provided under the mentorship of highly experienced professionals, including an instructor trainer with over 55 years of diving and teaching experience, ensuring candidates benefit from exceptional guidance and real-world industry knowledge.
Throughout the program, you will develop advanced diving skills, leadership ability and practical dive operations experience. Candidates will learn how to organise and supervise dive activities, conduct dive briefings, guide certified divers and assist instructors during training programs. A strong emphasis is placed on practical experience, meaning participants will often assist with real courses and dive trips under professional supervision.
Training takes place both at the Central Coast Divers facility and at local ocean dive sites, including locations such as Terrigal Haven and other suitable coastal environments. This provides candidates with valuable experience in real ocean diving conditions and the opportunity to build confidence while working with certified divers and students.
The program is conducted in English and typically delivered in small groups to ensure personalised instruction and mentorship. Course schedules are designed to be flexible, allowing participants to complete the training either full-time or part-time, depending on availability and seasonal diving conditions. The duration of the program may vary depending on a candidate’s experience level and the time required to meet all professional performance standards.
Participants must meet the minimum prerequisites, which include certification as a Rescue Diver (or equivalent), a minimum number of logged dives, appropriate medical clearance and current First Aid/CPR and oxygen provider qualifications.
Students are encouraged to use their own personal diving equipment suitable for professional training, although equipment rental and purchase options are available through the dive centre if required. Cylinders, weights and operational equipment used during training activities will be supplied where appropriate.
Training dives and course schedules may occasionally be adjusted due to weather conditions, sea state or operational safety requirements. All diving activities are conducted in accordance with recognised diving safety standards and professional training agency requirements to ensure the highest level of safety and training quality.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will hold an internationally recognised Divemaster certification, opening the door to employment opportunities with dive centres, resorts and liveaboards throughout the world.
