Drake Bay on pieni lahti, joka sijaitsee Tyynenmeren puolella Costa Ricassa Puntarenasin maakunnan eteläosassa. 1. Cano Island
Cano Island, a marine protected area, offers divers the chance to see a rich tapestry of marine life, including sharks. The reefs are vibrant with a variety of corals and fish. Suitable for both scuba and freediving, the adventure level ranges from easy to advanced.
2. The Devils Pinnacle
This site is ideal for advanced divers, featuring exciting rock formations and canyons. Expect to encounter large schools of Jacks, Snappers, and sometimes White Tip Reef Sharks. The site is primarily for scuba diving due to its technical nature.
3. Paradise
A site suitable for divers of all levels, Paradise offers a lush underwater environment with diverse marine life. Scuba diving here allows exploration of beautiful coral formations. Freediving is also possible, offering a serene experience.
4. Sunken Ship
This site features a fascinating wreck that attracts a variety of marine species. It is best suited for advanced divers due to the depth and structure of the wreck. Scuba diving is recommended to fully explore the site.
5. Shark Ledge
Known for frequent shark sightings, Shark Ledge offers thrilling encounters with marine life. Suitable for scuba diving, it is an advanced site due to strong currents and varying depths. The area is a significant ecological zone within the marine park.
Parhaat kuukaudet sukeltaa Drake Bayssä
Sukeltaminen Drake Bayssä on mahdollista ympäri vuoden, sillä olosuhteet ovat kauttaaltaan miellyttävät. Veden lämpötila vaihtelee 24 °C:sta toukokuusta marraskuuhun kestävän sadekauden aikana 28 °C:een kuivana kautena. Sadekausi tarkoittaa yleensä vain joitakin suihkuja iltapäivisin, joten se ei vaikuta sukeltamiseen usein. Näkyvyys vaihtelee 10 ja 30 metrin välillä.
Kyhmyvalaat vaeltavat täällä kausittain tammikuusta maaliskuuhun.
