Tutustu Kiribatiin
Mikronesian hohtavan Tyynen valtameren keskellä sijaitseva Kiribati, jossa sijaitsee Etelä-Tyynenmeren suurin merensuojelualue Phoenix Island Protected Area, joka nimettiin Unescon maailmanperintökohteeksi vuonna 2010, koostuu 32 atollista ja yhdestä korallisaaresta.
Pääsaaret kootaan tyypillisesti kolmeen ryhmään: Gilbertinsaaret, Line-saaret, joihin kuuluu tunnettu Joulusaari, ja Phoenix-saaret. Sukelluskeskuksia ja sukelluskeskuksia, jotka tarjoavat erilaisia sukelluskursseja ja -matkoja, on olemassa, mutta niitä ei ole valtavasti, mikä mahdollistaa pienet ryhmät ja rauhalliset sukelluskohteet.

Tärkeimmät sukellustukikohdat ovat Joulusaari ja Tarawa. Joulusaari on Kiribatin suurin ja tunnetuin, ja siellä sijaitsee maailman suurin koralliatoll. Se houkuttelee monia sukeltajia koskemattomille riutoilleen, joilla viihtyvät runsaat merilajit. Sukeltajia odottavat kaleidoskooppimaiset riuttakalat, sateenkaarenväriset kovat ja pehmeät korallit, lohikäärmeenmuraalit, kilpikonnat, riuttahait, mantarauskut ja kotkarauskut sekä jopa kehrääjädelfiinit. Joulukuusta huhtikuuhun nähdään yleisesti valaita, delfiinejä ja pikkuvalaita. Marraskuusta huhtikuuhun on mahdollista kohdata valashaita. Tarawan atollilla on myös upeita sukellusmahdollisuuksia ja toisen maailmansodan aikaisia jäännöksiä, jotka ovat seurausta tämän ajanjakson konflikteista.

1. Christmas Island

4. Southern Line Islands
The Southern Line Islands are a paradise for advanced divers, with largely unspoiled coral reefs supporting a diverse range of marine life. Scuba diving is recommended to explore the depths fully. The remoteness of the islands contributes to their pristine condition, making them a hidden gem for those seeking adventure.
5. Kiritimati Atoll (Freediving Possible)
Kiritimati Atoll, part of the Line Islands, is suitable for both scuba diving and freediving. It offers an easy to advanced adventure level, ideal for exploring its expansive coral reefs and abundant fish species. The atoll's remoteness has allowed the marine environment to flourish, providing a spectacular setting for underwater exploration.
