Cahuita kisvárosa Costa Rica keleti partján, Limon tartományban található, a Karib-tenger partján. Costa Rica esős évszaka októbertől januárig tart, és a vízben megnövekedett tápanyagtartalom csökkentheti a látótávolságot, de vonzza a nagyobb nyílt tengeri fajokat, ami egyben ráadás! A száraz évszak februártól szeptemberig tart, fantasztikus, 25 méternél is nagyobb látótávolsággal és nyugodt, ideális időjárással. Ez a legjobb időszak a kisebb tengeri élőlények nagyobb számának megélésére is. A víz átlagos hőmérséklete egész évben 28°C.
