Mossel Bay é uma cidade portuária na região do Cabo Ocidental da África do Sul. Fica equidistante de Port Elizabeth, a leste, e da Cidade do Cabo, a oeste. A zona é atualmente muito popular entre os turistas.

O mergulho em Mossel Bay é possível durante todo o ano devido ao clima ameno e semi-árido. Este clima é moderado pela Corrente das Agulhas, a sul, e pelas Montanhas Outeniqua, a norte. Recebe mais chuva do que outras regiões, mas principalmente à noite.
Durante o inverno (maio - setembro), a temperatura média diurna é de 19°C. Os meses de verão (outubro - abril) têm uma temperatura média diária de 26°C. A temperatura da água mantém-se em torno dos 17°C durante todo o ano, pelo que a maioria das pessoas necessita de um fato de mergulho de pelo menos 7 mm.
