Naziv Fury Shoals predstavlja bijesne vjetrove koji se ovdje mogu pojaviti, što ponekad uzrokuje da određena mjesta za ronjenje budu nedostupna, ali nema potrebe za brigom jer s toliko mnogo mjesta za ronjenje uvijek postoji mogućnost ronjenja.
