This is a dive that runs parallel to the coast of Ciudadela. Leaving the port and sailing north in 5 minutes we anchor at 18 m saving the Neptune grass on the bottom. There are several small caves and chimneys, easily practicable and a large amount of aquatic life, especially macro.
Sailing 10 minutes south from the port of Ciudadela, you will arrive at the coast of Cala Blanca where you anchor. This dive site is found at Punta Quintana and gets its name from the large chimney that rises vertically from 17 meters at the bottom to the top at 7 meters.
This dive takes place on the wreck of a French freighter, “The Malakoff“, which was 110 metres long and 19 metres wide and sank on the 2nd of January 1929, off the southwest coast of Minorca. It is between 30 and 38 metres deep and is therefore only suitable for experienced and qualified divers.
Leaving the port, sail north, parallel to the coast enjoying the beautiful landscape until you reach the cove of Calas Picas. Anchor there and descend to the sandy bottom covered in Neptune grass. Dive parallel to the coast until you reach the entrance of the tunnel, the return in the same way you came.
On the north coast of Minorca, in Arenal de Castell, at the bottom of the reef of Cala Morts, you will find a large, submerged rock to explore. The play of light on the rock is very interesting.
This dive is usually done from land, although it can sometimes be done from a boat. From the beach of Cala Blanca you can enter from the shore and it is especially suitable for divers with little experience and for night dives. The maximum depth is 12 metres and is usually started by entering from the beach,
This is a dive with a maximum depth of 24 meters. The boat can be anchored near “cala“ and from there descend according to certification and experience to where the remains of the amphorae are located, where also the name comes from.Be sure NOT to touch the amphoras, take only pictures.
This dive is usually done from land in the Cala de Son Xoriguer and is especially suitable for inexperienced divers and for night dives. The maximum depth is 10 metres and is usually started by entering from a platform or descending a few stone steps.
It is a dive that is done from the coast, and we do it from the platforms. Next to the coast there is a shallow sandy area and little by little we find more and more depth, always leaving the coast to our left, we arrive at some cave. From there we will return.
This dive site is very suitable for beginner divers or those with few dives. Usually you enter from a small beach which is also suitable for try scuba and for the night dives. The maximum depth is 12 metres and there is usually good visibility.
This dive can be done from a boat or from land. On the north coast of the island we can dive in Cala Morel, we enter the water from the platforms that are on the coast, finding a fairly wide sand, leaving the cove and diving to the west we can reach the Cueva de La Catedral.
It is one of the Caves of Cap d’en Font. Accessing through a platform to the west of Cap d’en Font, you dive for about 15 minutes at a shallow depth until you reach a first cave. You advance a little further until reaching Pozo de la Luna. Inside, we access to an air chamber by passing through a halocline.
This is a dive with a maximum depth of 22.5 meters. It can be done from a boat or from the coast. It’s a rock that emerges from the bottom to a depth of 12 meters with a length of about 50 meters. Seen from the south face it looks like the bow of a nuclear submarine and this gives the dive its name. A lot of life.
It’s a course dive. Close to the coast of Cala Blanca is this place that is named after the tunnels perpendicular to the coast that have parts of the roof collapsed. If the level of the divers is adequate, a chimney can also be made. It is convenient to bring a flashlight.
This dive is usually done from land, although it can sometimes be done from a boat. From land we enter from the beach of Cala Blanca and dive westwards following the wall on our right. When we reach the beginning of Cala Blanca, we take a north-westerly direction, always having the wall on our right and retourn.
