Rabaul is a township which lies on the east coast of the island of New Britain, which lies just east of the island of Papua New Guinea, in the Island Region. The harbour of Rabaul was formed by a large volcanic eruption and the area is still surrounded by a number of dormant volcanoes. The coasts are littered with WWII wrecks and relics which is what attracts many wreck enthusiasts to this area. Aside from wrecks, the nutrient rich, volcanic waters hold a large selection of flourishing reefs in pristine condition, with species ranging from colourful Soft Corals to graceful Eagle Rays. 1. George Wreck

This site, a Japanese WWII minelayer, offers a rich marine habitat for divers to explore. Divers can expect to see a variety of marine life that has made the wreck their home. It is suitable for all levels, from easy to advanced, given its depth of 12 to 60 meters. Scuba diving is the primary type of diving here, with the wreck providing a historical and visually captivating experience.

2. Tom, Dick and Harry Reefs

Connected by a ridge at 15 meters, these reefs offer diverse underwater experiences. The colorful marine life and varied features make it an adventure for all divers. 3. Reimers Wall
