
This dive site is located right next to the island. The long reef ends into a corner of the canal. Here you can see several highlights. A very nice dive site for beginners as well as experienced divers.
One of the most colorful dive sites in North Male Atoll. On the south side of Girifushi island with abundant fish life and very nice soft corals, there are numerous blue soft corals and a swim through. The current can be strong!
Sunlight Thila is a formation of two small reefs that attract giant manta rays between March and October. Between the reefs lies a 60-meter long sandy bottom boasting small coral formations with plenty of cleaner wrasses.
Probably one of the best Thilas in the whole North Male area. There are several pinnacles on the north of the Thila, where the main fish are, along with beautiful coral formations and sea fans. Wonderful dive for experienced divers due to the strong current.
This dive site has many names, Fish Tank, Fish Factory, Stingray City and they all fit! There is actually a fish factory on the island and this is the reason why there are so many rays and moray eels.
Lankan is a cleaning station for manta rays and scuba divers visiting often get to see an amazing manta show, one of the highlights of any trip to the Maldives.
Kani Corner is basically a slope that goes to 25 - 30 m in a sandy bottom. There are some big blocks this deep and at the right time, mantas visit the blocks or pass by the top of the reef. The current can be strong so take caution.
Colosseum is located on the west side of the island of Thulusdhoo. At the corner to the channel there is a large indentation in the form of a Roman amphitheatre at approx. 20m. This form is the epitome of the dive site and, at the same time, a meeting place for many marine creatures.
Cool drift dive that also always brings current with it. Start either near the Manta Point or, with less current, directly at the channel entrance. The caves are rather overhangs that range from 12 to 30m. For the more experienced there is a deep nose in the middle of the current.
A stunning underwater pinnacle just minutes away from the island of Kuda Rah. This dive site has been declared a protected marine area. The dive site is better for Advanced certified divers and those who are experienced with a bit of current. Nitrox is recommended.
Rangali Madivaru (Madi = Manta, Faru = long Reef) is a manta cleaning station located in the channel at approx. 9 meters on the edge where the sloping bottom meets a plateau reef. This dive site is best visited during the manta season when the current is outgoing, otherwise when the current is incoming.
This “Thila” is in the middle of the kandooma kandu. From 2000 to 2009 this dive site was ranked world 10th place of shark diving. The top of the reef is full of hard corals. The sides of the “Thila” are covered with soft corals. The currents are strong here and highly recommend for Advanced and Nitrox divers.
Nice channel dive with many overhangs in around 20 meters depth. One of the overhangs at 20 meters has an opening at the ceiling with a window at 10 meters. Torch highly recommended. Many turtles seen here!
One of the interesting attractions during the east monsoon, this site offers a wide variety of big fish life. The entire channel is a marine protected area. Depending on the strength of the current, be well prepared for several downstream currents and some washing machines when drifting to the inside channel.
Cocoa corner can be dived both with incoming and outgoing current. Incoming is generally considered the best, with loads of grey reef sharks patrolling the blue at the entry of the pass.With outgoing current, a couple of detached coral blocks makes an interesting dive, with nurse sharks, grey reefs and stingrays
