SSI Ice Diving
Norway Diving Center
The SSI Ice Diving program is designed for certified divers who want to experience and train in one of the most unique and demanding diving environments — diving under ice.
This course introduces divers to overhead-environment procedures in cold water, with a strong focus on safety, control, and teamwork, conducted strictly according to SSI standards.
What You Will Learn
Ice-diving planning and risk management
Use of safety lines, reels, and communication signals
Proper entry and exit procedures through the ice
Buoyancy control and trim in cold-water conditions
Team coordination and emergency procedures
Prerequisites
Minimum SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
Dry suit certification and experience
Good buoyancy control and comfort in cold water
