Handle emergencies and increase your confidence underwater The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Specialty is one of the most valuable courses in your diving career. You learn to recognize, prevent and respond appropriately to emergency situations above and below water. After obtaining this certification, you will be able to enhance your own safety, help others in distress and work effectively with a buddy team. This course is an important step towards professional routes such as Dive Guide and Divemaster. The course consists of a combination of theory, pool training and underwater exercises. During the four classroom sessions you will learn to recognize stress factors and analyze emergency scenarios. In the pool and outdoor water, you will practice rescue techniques, self-rescue, towing techniques, search patterns and emergency management.
