Discover the top dive spots in Germany

Germany offers a caleidoscope of dive opportunities from crystal clear alp likes over sunken cities to shipwrecks from world war II. The diversity of dive spots in Germany is astonishing and has great visibility. Explore salt water diving in the baltic sea as well as fresh water dives in form of old quarries, rivers and lakes. Because the water is quite cold, a dry suit is recommended. Go on your next underwater adventure!

Steinbruch Horka (★4.1)

The quarry’s main building has a toilet, shower, changing rooms, and a hotel nearby. It is possible to put up a tent for camping. A steep descent down the metal stairs leads to the water with one entrance and one exit. At the stairs, it is possible to descend to 5m at buoy no. 1.

Echinger Weiher (★4.1)

The Echinger Weiher is an artificially created Baggersee in the north of Munich. With a size of about 100 x 250m and a maximum depth of 8m it is suitable for training and practice dives. The lake is located in a nature reserve. Please note: a diving license must be purchased in advance!

Murner See Holzturm (★3.9)

At the northern shore of the Murner See, a former brown coal open pit mine, you will find the entrance “Holzturm“ / “Aussichtsturm.“ After the entrance on the left, you will find a 20 m stepped mining platform with many, small “sights“ above 10 m. From the entrance straight ahead a rope leads into the depth.

The entry point to Helenessee is near the dive school and offers many possibilities: stick along the shore, utilize the platforms, have a deep dive, explore the wrecks or enjoy the beautiful fish population.

There is a dive center on the lake with everything you need for diving. Four nice entrances spread around the lake. Several training platforms at different depths. Four wrecks spread around the lake and a sunken village with houses, church, chapel, and cemetery can be dived through.

Kreide-See is a well known and popular diving lake. In former times chalk was mined here. The roads, the vibrator, trucks, conveyor belts, and some machines that were needed for the mining can still be visited underwater.

Stechlinsee is a German clear water lake and the deepest lake Brandenburg. the deeper area is not for diving, however, diving is open all year round. Accommodations are available and the lake offers children’s holiday camps.

Steilwand, Starnberger See, Allmannshausen (★3.9)

The Allmannshauser Steilwand is rightly known as one of the most beautiful dive sites in Germany. Diving from the shallow shore to the middle of the lake, you reach the edge after a few minutes at a depth of 12-20 meters, depending on the point of entry. Underneath is a wonderfully varied steep face.

Fühlinger See (★4.0)

A lake to fall in love with! There is a large parking lot, WC, and snack bar. The vegetation and many different fish are a pleasure! Suitable for beginners to advanced divers and night diving with the appropriate certification every Friday.
