Recreational Sidemount Diving

Purpose: Do you want to work professionally in diving? The Divemaster program is the second step in your recreational diving career. The SSI Divemaster is a thorough training program that develops your knowledge, hones your diving skills and develops your leadership qualities. Divemaster consists of the Dive Guide and Science of Diving programs. A Divemaster may instruct in the Try Scuba program (pool only), be an assistant instructor to SSI instructors in pool/sheltered water and in Open Water exercises (always supervised by an SSI instructor). This provides valuable experience for future careers. Content: During the Divemaster program you will learn dive leadership skills through classroom theory, self-study and practical training. The course is divided into two parts: The first part is Dive Guide. The program combines practical experience and theoretical knowledge. The goal is to create experienced, versatile and skilled diving professionals. An SSI Diveguide can lead certified divers. After completing the snorkeling diver program, a dive guide can instruct and issue snorkeling diver certificates.

The Instructor Evaluation (IE) is the final step of SSI’s 2-Step Instructor Training Approach Divemasters or equivalent-level professionals will have to successfully complete the Instructor Training Course (ITC) first where you’ll learn how to: • Conduct academic sessions • Lead confined water training • Teach Open Water Diver and various Specialty programs like Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress&Rescue, Perfect Buoyancy and more • Develop student management and communication skills Already an experienced instructor with another agency? You may be eligible for shortened oboarding options where you will only have to complete certain parts of the Instructor Training Course (ITC) followed by passing an Instructor Evaluation (IE). Purpose: CPR and first aid are important skills in high demand. As a trained React Right Instructor, you will master these skills professionally and become certified to train further. Content: During your React Right Instructor training, you will gain experience in the role of an instructor and how to structure courses in CPR and first aid as well as oxygen use. You will learn how to motivate students, assess students' knowledge, present theoretical course content, become adept at developing students' practical skills and you will also learn how to present effective scenario-based sessions.

Purpose: As an SSI Pro, you will not only gain additional experience as a PRO, you will also have the opportunity to broaden your opportunities to train divers in specialty courses, learn the SSI system for training specialty courses and get certified at a higher level, take teaching responsibilities and self-certify students, and hold theory lessons in new and exciting areas and courses. Content: During the course, you will gain in-depth knowledge in organizing and controlling specialty diving courses and students, as well as learn the SSI training philosophy and gain insight into basic learning theory and pedagogy. The course consists of self-study, theory lessons and presentations as well as workshops both theoretical, in pool and in open water. Prerequisites: Renewed Divemaster, medical examination not older than 12 months, React Right (First Aid) not older than 24 months, at least 60 logged dives with a minimum of 40 hours of diving. The course consists of self-study, theory lessons and presentations as well as workshops both theoretically, in the pool and in open water. Prerequisites: Renewed Divemaster, health examination not older than 12 months, React Right (First Aid, O2 Provider) not older than 24 months, at least 60 logged dives with a minimum of 40 hours of diving. Purpose: The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program is a complete program to train you to the first step of Dive Instructor. Which focuses on further developing your leadership skills and learning the diving industry in its entirety. After completing the course and passing the exam, you can directly start your career as a diving instructor and certify students. Content: During the course you will gain extended knowledge in teaching diving both theoretically and practically. Organization and commitment are key. You will learn how to apply the SSI system of training and safety thinking as well as present theory lessons, pool lessons and open water courses.
