Purpose: As an Assistant Instructor, you not only gain additional experience as a PRO, you also learn the SSI system of training divers and assist at a higher level (than as a Divemaster), take on teaching responsibilities and self-certify students, and teach theory classes in certain areas and courses. Assistant Instructor Specialist is preparatory for your Open Water Instructor course. Content: During the course you will gain in-depth knowledge in organizing and controlling diving and students as well as learn SSI's training philosophy and gain insight into basic learning theory and pedagogy. The course consists of self-study, theory lessons and presentations as well as workshops both theoretically, in the pool and in open water. Prerequisites: Renewed Divemaster, health examination not older than 12 months, React Right (First Aid, O2 Provider) not older than 24 months, at least 60 logged dives with a minimum of 40 hours of diving.
