Assistant Instructor

Purpose: As an SSI Pro, you will not only gain additional experience as a PRO, you will also have the opportunity to broaden your opportunities to train divers in specialty courses, learn the SSI system for training specialty courses and get certified at a higher level, take teaching responsibilities and self-certify students, and hold theory lessons in new and exciting areas and courses. Content: During the course, you will gain in-depth knowledge in organizing and controlling specialty diving courses and students, as well as learn the SSI training philosophy and gain insight into basic learning theory and pedagogy. The course consists of self-study, theory lessons and presentations as well as workshops both theoretical, in pool and in open water. Prerequisites: Renewed Divemaster, medical examination not older than 12 months, React Right (First Aid) not older than 24 months, at least 60 logged dives with a minimum of 40 hours of diving. Minimum age 18 years What courses can you become an instructor in? Depending on what Pro level you have, there are different possibilities in which specialty courses you can train in, contact us and we will send information. During your React Right instructor training, you will gain experience in the role of an instructor and how to structure courses in CPR and first aid and oxygen use. You will learn how to motivate students, assess student knowledge, present theoretical course content, become adept at developing students' practical skills, and you will also learn how to present effective scenario-based sessions.

This weekend we are running 5 Specialty Instructor courses in Deep Diving, Dry Suit Diving, Navigation Diving, Night Diving and Wreck Diving. Becoming an SSI Specialty Instructor is easy. Continue your dive training as an instructor by enrolling in a Specialty Instructor Seminar for each of the dive specialties you wish to teach. Alternatively, you can teach the specialty you are interested in with an experienced Specialty Instructor or request a verification application of your experience and submit it directly to SSI. Teach more specialties to automatically receive the Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

Purpose: The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program is a complete program to train you to the first step of Dive Instructor. Which focuses on further developing your leadership skills and learning the diving industry in its entirety. After completing the course and passing the exam, you can directly start your career as a diving instructor and certify students. Content: During the course you will gain extended knowledge in teaching diving both theoretically and practically. Organization and commitment are key. You will learn how to apply the SSI system of training and safety thinking as well as present theory lessons, pool lessons and open water courses.

Assistant Instructor Specialist is preparatory for your Open Water Instructor course. Content: During the course you will gain in-depth knowledge in organizing and controlling diving and students as well as learn SSI's training philosophy and gain insight into basic learning theory and pedagogy. The course consists of self-study, theory lessons and presentations as well as workshops both theoretically, in the pool and in open water. Prerequisites: Renewed Divemaster, health examination not older than 12 months, React Right (First Aid, O2 Provider) not older than 24 months, at least 60 logged dives with a minimum of 40 hours of diving. Minimum age 18 years

Purpose: CPR and first aid are important skills in high demand. As a trained React Right Instructor, you will master these skills professionally and become certified to train further. Content: During your React Right Instructor training, you will gain experience in the role of an instructor and how to structure courses in CPR and first aid as well as oxygen use. You will learn how to motivate students, assess students' knowledge, present theoretical course content, become adept at developing students' practical skills and you will also learn how to present effective scenario-based sessions.
