The water quality has been the highest in Japan for five years in a row and the clarity is high, reaching 50 meters from January to June. You can also go ice diving during January to March. You can do a river drift dive into the river that drains from the lake.
From July to September, you can see endemic species of ducks, water plants, blue-winged carp, rainbow trout, red-bellied shrimp, etc. From the middle of October to the end of November, it is the time of spawning of the rainbow trout, and you can see the red-bellied trout in the nuptial color nearby. Rare blue and white carps can be seen on river drift dives.
