Located on South East of the island. This dive site has shallow water that is good for training dives and practice buoyancy. The dive site is sheltered, so you can dive in a calm and stable environment with no waves.
Tanote Bay is a beautiful dive site on the east coast of Koh Tao. The reef starts right at the shore and reaches over the whole bay. The edge of the reef is at a depth between 8 and 15 meters. Besides the Katamaran Wreck at 18m, Tanote Bay has different artificial reef constructions as well as small caverns!
Hin Ngam is located on the southeast coast of Koh Tao, on the way into Aow Leuk which is a snorkeling and diving hotspot. The Him Ngam is sheltered and has a fringing reef running right around the bay. The dive site has a max depth of 12 meters with a sandy bottom making it ideal for beginner and student divers.
Just on the mouth of the bay, this newly sunk wreck is 44.9M long, 7M wide, is a high speed attack ship. Belonging to the Gulf Patrol Fleet, Royal Thai Navy and built by Singapore Ship Building and Engineering Co., Ltd.
After the tresher sharks disappeared from Monad Shoal for unknown reasons and moved to the Kimud Shoal, this is now one of the best dive sites in the world to see the rare and elusive tresher sharks. These sharks normally live in the deep but regularly come here for the cleaning stations at shallower depths.
A steep slope on the north side of Gili Trawangan, from 5m down to 24m with a series of gullies at the bottom. A series of gradually deeper ridges running parallel to the beach is located between 25m and 40m.
This is the only historical shipwreck in Bali, ranked #3 in the world for Wreck diving! The wreck is 25 meters form shore at a depth of 4 to 29 meters below the surface with most of it occuring in a shallow area. This dive site does not have strong currents, has clear water, and warm temperatures. Difficult entry!
Hans Reef is a gentle sandy slope that runs parallel to the shore and features a large coral mound and smaller outcrops. It is suitable for divers of all experience levels and is often used for training. It is excellent for night diving and navigation. Coral blocks attract a lot of marine life!
Umm el Arouk is the correct name, often confused with Gota Kebir. While both dive sites are part of the St. Jones area, they are not the same.
Hin Wong Pinnacle is located on the east side of Koh Tao, off the coast of Hinwon Bay. We recommend this site for intermediate and above divers because the current is relatively strong on many days. The main rock is not very large, but the entire dive site is wide and has a few scattered rocks.
