Get started now. To participate in SSI's three-tiered instructor training approach, you must be a Divemaster or equivalent. The training process begins by participating in a combination of assistant instructor/instructor training courses with digital learning. After successfully completing the Instructor Training Course (ITC), you'll enroll in the Instructor Evaluation (IE) to earn your SSI Open Water Instructor rating. This 10-day training program enables you to independently teach a variety of key SSI programs such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Nitrox, Stress Rescue and Dive Guide.
